A new series of Monopoly related images .....
These shots were taken during our recent family vacation ( yes my kids think I'm annoying but in a nice way... ) This game was rescued by me at the time of the sale of our family cottage 10 or 12 years ago and its something I've always cherished. As far as I can tell this set was purchased in the early 50's and was a may stay of our summers on the lake. Most of the original pieces are still in good shape including game pieces and the wooden houses and hotels.This game was the source of much joy and many arguments but I'm glad to have it just the same .

According to Hasbro, since Charles Darrow patented the game in 1935, approximately 750 million people have played the game, making it "the most played (commercial) board game in the world." The 1999 Guinness Book of Records cited Hasbro's previous statistic of 500 million people having played Monopoly.
