Moonrise by Half Dome

This was the day that the moon rose with the right phase and at the right time to seek a shot similar to Ansel Adams' "Moon and Half Dome".

It turns out that it's not that simple! I needed to be there the day before, but on that day I headed up to Glacier Point for sunset. I have a better date to try again next Fall!

In the meantime, I'll be meeting some folks in Yosemite on Feb 28 to take Winter shots and to catch Horsetail Falls backlit at sunset:
