Moons soundtrack helps Bradley Wiggins win
Olympic Gold medalist Bradley Wiggins has revealed his soundtrack during the final week of the Tour De France was the new album by Northampton band The Moons.
The cyclist, who is well known for his like of ‘Mod’ music has been a fan of the band since they released their first album in 2010.
He has since struck up a friendship with The Moons’ main man, Andy Crofts, and also sent him a limited Fred Perry cycle top from his own range.
Mr Crofts, who plays keyboards for Paul Weller when not fronting The Moons, revealed the former frontman of The Jam was also sent a top by Wiggins.
Wiggins said: “The Moons’ new album became the soundtrack to the final week of the Tour De France in my room. It’s the best Moons album yet.”
The Moons release their new album, Fables Of History, on September 24.
New single Jennifer (Sits Alone) is out on September 10 on limited vinyl and download.
The band’s UK tour kicks on the same month and heads to the Northampton Roadmender on October 5. For details visit www.themoons.co.uk
