Morality is a product of nature/ anti-gay bigotry

A horse was shot  by vandals with a crossbow. What next happened might seem amazing but isn't that uncommon in nature. After the horse was shot, four other horses licked his wound clean. Why would they do that? Simply, empathy and a moral sense are natural. They evolved to favor members of  a group that would cooperate and help defend the other. While a horse's moral sense is in many ways more primitive then ours (since the last common ancestor between humans and horses is tens of millions of years old) this shows that the roots of evolution are at least that old. We, unlike other species, attribute our moral sense to supernatural entities. Unfortunate, but maybe itself  a product in a way of evolution. The book, "The Moral Animal"  is a good book on the development of morality in nature.

Mark Neumann who is running for governor in Wisconsin said this about homosexuality  back in the 1990s: ""If I was elected God for a day, homosexuality wouldn't be permitted, but nobody's electing me God." At a different date he had said, "The gay and lesbian lifestyle (is) unacceptable, lest there be any question about that."

So, according to Neumann homosexuality would be banned if he had the power. If Neumann gets elected governor he might try to reimpose sodomy laws on Wisconsinites and be the  Sex Police in Chief for Wisconsin.  Let's just hope the Supreme Court stops him and doesn't reverse its' decision against these archaic laws.

In a congressional race in Tennessee, a Ron Kirkland  (who served in Vietnam) stated  while running for Congress at a rally on his opposition for changing the military policy that kicks gay men and women who want to serve their nation:

“I can tell you if there were any homosexuals in that group, they were taken care of in ways I can’t describe to you.”

Now, while he served in Vietnam and I honor him for that, his support of violence ( though he tries to cover his support of it) against gay men and women in uniform is abhorent. Unfortunately he was probably cheered instead of being rightly booed. What, if someone didn't like Jews in the military should they have been beaten up also? What about Lutherns or African Americans?  I know there are many people in the Tea Party Movement (which this guy is in) who aren't far rightwing social conservatives but why does that movement seem to be dominated by them, if it is just about taxes?
