This is a trailer for WORLDwrite’s latest short documentary. The More the Merrier examines the impact of immigration. Through inspired argument and the story of one young Indian woman's desire to stay in the UK, the film lyrically interweaves historical archive with shanty songs. It presents a uniquely pro-immigration case and asks us to open our minds, and our borders.Get the full film on DVD from the WORLDwrite website and start some serious debate with friends, your school, college or university.

This short trailer conveys the main point of the full film which is to promote freedom of movement. It is timely since in the UK Gordon Brown is showcasing his draconian points system and the recent parliamentary committee on the impact of immigration is a poor attempt to argue a spurious case that immigration must be based on economic benefit . If we understand that immigration represents a striving for a better world why ever would we want to shut it down. The prevailing culture of limmits - a belief we cannot 'grow the cake' that numbvers of people are bad news for a planet in trouble- these are the modern anti-immigant ideas that do need to be challenged.

This is a great antidote to the anti immigrant nonsense we are constantly bombarded with, not least from the British government. I think it would be good to show in colleges schools and universities. I hope we can order the full film from somewhere please do indicate. It is also very beautifully crafted with the songs. Great stuff.
