Morgan Freeman Granddaughter: Affair With E'Dena Hines Alleged

The National Enquirer is making some pretty heavy allegations about actor Morgan Freeman in an exclusive June 2009 article. In the lengthy article the well known gossip rag alleges that Morgan Freeman, 72, and his granddaughter E'Dena Hines, 27, have been having a long time affair.
Morgan Freeman and his wife of 24 years, Myrna Colley-Lee, filed for divorce in August of 2008. In July 2008, shortly before the divorce papers were filed, Morgan Freeman had taken his granddaughter to the world premiere of Heath Ledger's last film The Dark Knight. Some witnesses at the event said Freeman and his granddaughter seemed unusually close.
“[The couple] are involved in a divorce action,” Morgan’s Mississippi-based attorney and business partner Bill Luckett revealed. “And for legal and practical purposes, [Freeman and Colley-Lee] have been separated since December of 2007.”
The National Enquirer story states that E'Dena Hines has repeatedly confirmed the affair in private. E'Dena Hines is Morgan Feeeman's step-granddaughter, if true the affair would not be a case of incest, but he has known her since she was a child and it is alleged that the affair began while she was still a teen.
According to the National Enquirer, Morgan Freeman carried on a long-term affair with his step granddaughter (who, while isn’t blood related – has known Morgan all her life). The granddaughter is named E'Dena Hines and she’s 27 now. But according to the report E’Dena and Morgan were having an affair since she was a teenager.
This is crazy – here’s an excerpt:
”[Morgan’s ex-wife] Myrna said E’Dena told her that when she was a teenager, she and Morgan went to dinner at a friend’s house one evening. Both had been drinking, and when they returned home, Morgan attempted to have sex with her.
They stopped just short of having intercourse … E’Dena explained to Myrna that she stopped Morgan from going any further.”
According to the report, which MediaTakeOut.com just got this morning, Myrna confronted Morgan about the affair – and he promised that it wouldn’t happen again. But the affair continued for many years. Here’s more:
E’Dena called Myrna [one day] in tears and “freaking out,” then allegedly blurted:
We had sex when I was in California in his hotel room, and I just can’t handle it anymore.”
E’Dena told Myrna that she’d given Morgan sexy photos of herself as a substitute for his needing to be intimate with her, but that was not enough for Morgan, according to the insider. “Edina said she was trying to get him back to being her grandpa and not her lover.”
In 2001 Morgan Freeman donated $250,000 to the Hutchison School for Girls, E'Dena Hines' alma mater, in honor of her graduation from the high school. The generous donation was intended to fund a teaching chair at the Hutchison School and was established in the name of both his wife, Myrna Colley-Lee, and his step-granddaughter, E'Dena Hines.
Famed actor Morgan Freeman has donated $250,000 to establish a chair of performing arts at a college preparatory school for girls in Memphis.
The endowed teaching position at the Hutchison School will honor Freeman's wife, Myrna Colley-Lee, and their granddaughter E'Dena Hines. Hines, 18, will graduate from the school this year.
In August 2008 Morgan Freeman was involved in a car accident with Demaris Meyer. At the time it was suggested that Freeman was having an affair with Demaris Meyer and that the accident had made it public and prompted the divorce action. The affair allegations were categorically denied by Meyer who later sued Morgan Freeman for injuries she sustained in the crash.
"I have been labeled as the other woman and have been accused of having caused the breakup of Mr. Freeman's marriage," Meyer said. "Nothing could be further from the truth. I had hoped and prayed that Mr. Freeman or his representatives would have set the record straight and cleared my name, but they have not done so and that is why I have chosen to come forward to tell the truth about our relationship."
After the accident, it was revealed that Freeman and his wife of 24 years, Myrna Collee-Lee, were in the middle of a divorce, having been separated since December 2007.
Freeman behaved like a "perfect gentleman" the night of the crash, Meyer said.
While Morgan Freeman has not confirmed or denied an affair with his granddaughter reports have surfaced that he and Myrna Colley-Lee had an open marriage. If this is the case an affair alone would not be enough to prompt divorce action and something unusual must have precipitated the move.
None of the allegations against Morgan Freeman and his granddaughter made by the National Enquirer have been confirmed.

One of my favorite actors, and one of the few qualified to play God, of all of them in Hollywood now.
The step-grandaughter? Bad choice, but much different than a real blood relative. Saved by the DNA?!

Anything can happen when someone is "liquored up". Most movie stars are actors because
they are good at "acting" and it has nothing to do with how they are when the lights are dimmed.
I adore him as an actor. No one can ever know what goes on behind closed doors. Unless
they get caught going out the back like John Edwards and others have been.
One also has to throw into this speculation the possiblity of the step daughter having mental
problems. I know of families that usually have at least one member that is borderline
....compulsive liars...hysterical disorder etc...We also know of attention seekers and many
who can be and have been falsely accused. It takes a lot of living to come into contact
with these different kinds of disorders. My field I have been involved in has contributed
to my faith that news can never necessarily be the truth.
We have to consider also how many prisoners who have been released from DNA or other
means of discovery of the real truth after serving YEARS! Judged, accused and juried and
still falsely accused.

Hello people he's only human and did what was humanly inclined but morally corrupt to the rest of us and a betrayal of trust..It's time people stop seeing other as beyond error we all make mistakes and the mistakes of other are more costly. Ministers, Pastors, Presidents and biological fathers have been known to have done worse..Wake up and stop looking at actors, presidents, ballplayers or whomever it might be that we idolize as roll models for our children.They are no different from anybody you see daily. You best believe it these will not be the worst we'll ever hear to come out of hollywood .These will be a lesson to those that are left to learn.

OH STOP IT! First of all, we don't know if any of this is true--BUT, if it is--don't come with that LAME EXCUSE that he (Morgan Freeman) is only human. Morgan Freeman is a "perverted" old whore/pedaphile just like Quincy Jones if he did this and that goes for the likes of Mel Gibson and Woody Allen. Why do we keep making excuses for these old "whores" who screw around with gullible, vulnerable, naive young women who just want to be loved.
And in the case of Morgan Freeman--he didn't want to have anymore children when he married his 2nd wife Myrna. When his STEPDAUGHTER from his 1st marriage (who he adopted) got pregnant with this STEPGRANDAUGHTER--aka-- E'Dena and couldn't take care of her--Myrna talked Morgan Freeman into letting her take care of the child. So, they raised this girl as their own--THUS, there is no excuse for what he did--if he actually did it.
That lay-out in Vogue with the 25-year old model certainly doesn't help. Creepy. Poor Morgan--that car crash last year is revealing a lot about him--AND THAT AIN'T GOOD!
Also, the REAL (not DeMaris) so-called mistress who HE dumped (regardless of what the Enquirer claims) supposedly she and HER ex-husband come from well-connected southern families. This could be their doing - LOL! These rumors could also be the doing of the ex-wife. They said this divorce was going to get NASTY!

Sounds like there have been some serious problems in this family for along time. What was a 17-year old doing getting intoxicated in the presence of her grandfather in the first place. An open marriage? Why stay married to him in the first place. I have adored Morgan Freeman for years as a talented and sensitive artist. During the past year, he's emerged as an aging, ugly, screwed up human being with the morals of a dog in heat. So much for charisma. I'll never watch another one of his movies. And I hope his wife, Myrna, realizes how lucky she is to get this demented fool out of her life. Take him to the cleaners honey.

I am astounded!!!! If these allegations are true Morgan should be ostrasized. Sorry, Morgan I love the one-hundred-thousand movies you have appeared in however having sex with your granddaughter is not acceptable. This act makes you nothing more than a perverted lecherous pathtic old man who is lusting after a young woman 45 years your junior and by the way is a very close family member (sick). Additionally, people like this are lazy as hell..... They are tons of woman out there he could have chosen to lust after that are 45 years his junior other than his granddaughter who trusted him and adored him her whole life who was apparently a matter of convenience. The one solice that a woman has who has grown up in this society is "at least my father, grandfather, uncle, brother didn't molest me." because then she has one step up in life coming out the gate. So many do not have that luxury. Donating money to an alma mater won't ever fix that. There are two many woman out there who have to live a life of guilt, depression and low self esteem because these events are so prominent in their lives. And as for Mr. Morgan I don't understand how he could hurt his wife, his children, his son-in and other grandchildren, his fans and lastly but most importantly the young lady who now has to has figure out what love is supposed to be about for the rest of her life. This is called a pathological behavior. He didn't seem to care about how many people he was hurting or even have a conscience. Unfortunately, his granddaughter has been marred for the rest of her life and she may never really understand the correct concept of love or properly recover from this incident. Morgan "THIS AIN'T NORMAL" no matter how easy or available it was. It is an act of selfishness and frankly working too damned much. In my estimation Morgan is no more than trash whose trailer sits on Hollywood's set instead of living in the 'burbs' where he should have gone home too a long time ago --> where his wife lives and not live in a fantasy world.

There are no allegations that she was a minor, from what I have read, at the time the allegedly began to have intercourse. That said, if they were two consenting adults, I find many of the comments here without merit. Why can't we Americans grow up when it comes to sex? This May-December thing has been going on for all of recorded history.
Bottom line is that he found her attractive and she found him attractive enough. Whether it was for lust, power, security, fame or something else, where is the REAL problem?? In some Puritan's mind. Period.

Regarding story about Morgan Freeman and step-grandaughter - for the love of god I pray it's not true - wheather it's his real grandaugher or not there's lines in life a person just don't cross no matter how tempting, there's too many women out there in the world that has no family link to him he could have an affair with. Ask yourself why and how is this the only publication that gets all the negative stuff on any and everybody with a well known name. Come on people pick up a real newspaper and watch tv news for some real stories. That alone should frighten the hell out of you. I guess anything can be possible,but if they did think about doing it I hope they did not act on it.People have to learn to control these hormones before somebody is hurt. I don't know if they would have gotten in trouble for seeking professional help before it took place. In any instance,God bless them.

NO HE IS NOT SAVED BY THE DNA. If this is all true--Freeman is ethically and morally CORRUPT! This girl was a MINOR when this affair began. People are trying to give this old coon a PASS because of his status as an actor. HOW PATHETIC!
This stepdaughter (E'Dena) is the daughter of Freeman's LEGALLY adopted daughter Deanna from his 1st marriage to Jeanette Bradshaw. Freeman LEGALLY ADOPTED Bradshaw's daugher Deanna during their 12 year marriage; together they also had one daughter named Morgana. When Deanna got pregnant and could not take care of E'Dena, Myrna, Freeman's 2nd wife, talked him into letting her raise the child. E'Dena was raised AS HIS GRANDDAUGHTER not some jump-off for him to take advantage of.
As for dismissing the Enquirer--remember, they got it right with the John Edwards and Mel Gibson affairs. I'm not saying they couldn't be embellishing some stuff here--but nornally WHERE THERE'S SMOKE, THERE IS FIRE. But one thing is for sure - Morgan Freeman appears to have problems with BOUNDARIES like a lot of men with money. They think they can do anything they want AND YOU THE PUBLIC won't mind and will continue to support them.
