Morocco: Women, Modernization & Islam

Moroccan women struggle with a modern social expression and traditional Islamic precepts.

Moroccan women are fighting to define their own paths in navigating the traditional Islamic male dominated society which had always ruled their thinking and actions. From how they expressed their sexuality, what fashions they could adopt, their music, literature and social outings. While leaving them alone and unsupported to deal with unwanted pregnancies from demands for sex, the child out of wedlock, social ostracism,  to living as single parent raising child and balancing career.

The following is a link I think will open the eyes of many a western urbanite who takes much of this as unremarkable in our society today.

My apologies for not being able to upload the video.

in the morning gather thyself to purpose,
in the evening discuss the manner,
that thou hast been this day,
in word, work, and thought.

the women sound a lot smarter than the men. perhaps Islam has a future direction other than fundamentalism.

The women in places like that have always been smarter than the men. They are the ones that do all the hard work while the men are off doing whatever pathetic rubbish that they do, shielded mainly by women from having to face consequences of their actions. Islamic society is a disgrace in which the world's worst men horrendously abuse some of its best women. If the whole thing were to come apart and the place was to become a matriarchy, it would soon become as good a place as California or France.
