Mother Nature Fails To Drown Tulip Festival

It seems that the rain is becoming as much a part of the Tulip Festival as the tulips themselves. Last year it rained for a short period whilst this year Mother Nature dumped her rain on Albany from the start. However, that still did not stop the organizors, vendors, entertainers and the general public from making the 62nd 2010 Albany Tulip Festival a success.

People came from near and afar, not only to see the tulips, which is why every year is a success, but also to savour the many cultures in cuisine, browse the eclectic selection of homemade wares from over 60 vendors and to enjoy the many delights in entertainment at both the Ampitheatre and the WEQX Stage. And don't forget the kids. There is plenty for them to do as well.

For me, of course, I cannot thank Mother Nature enough. Taking photographs of tulips immediately after the rain is pure joy. Capturing the many colors, shapes and sizes covered in rain drops is very much worth it, although many would prefer a rain free festival once in a while.

So if you have never been, or just happened to miss this year, please feel free to check out the Albany Tulip Festival photographs and we look forward to seeing you next year, come rain or shine.
