The movie Paul, a pro-athiest theme to it?

I was watching the movie Paul, and I have to say, it definately had a very pro-atheist/humanist/reason perspective. Good. Rarely is there a movie or show that without hestitation or apology states that religion is not true. In particular, the movie strongly condemns fundamenalism. Fundamentalism is a disease among religion. Fundamentalism is unthinking, illogical and takes pride in its' lack of logic and reason, which it calls faith.

The movie involves an English speaking alien from another planet who shows a fundamentalist young woman, that her religious beliefs are simply not true. At all. Fundamentalism denies gays the right to marry who they love and just a decade ago led to them being jailed and fined for consensual sex with other adults. It denies me a right to die and it helps continue the idiotic war on drugs. That is why I write on it as a progressive, because fundamentalist religion is the chief opponent to progress and equality in America.

I never knew of this pro-atheism perspective in this film until I read a letter in a newspaper, by a Christian fundamentalist, condemning the film for its' criticism of fundamentalist Christianity. Good. Religion has long been the third rail in American politics. Of the 535 full voting members of Congress, only one has come out as a non-theist, and even he, Pete Starks, won't come out fully as an atheist.

 The House of Representives saw only a total of nine members of Congress vote against a pro-"In God we Trust" resolution. That only 9 members of Congress have the courage to state that the government shouldn't be in the pro-religious business, is depressing.
