MTV MVA Awards 2009, Sept 13: Star Studded Promo Video Released

The MTV Music Video Awards are always an event and the 2009 show will be no different. Hosted for a second year by Russell Brand, the 2009 MTV MVA boast that after it airs New York City "this city will never be the same again."

The 2009 MTV MVA will air live on September 13, 2009 at 9pm PST, with a spanish language repeat on September 20 at 5pm EST. The video promo for the 2009 MTV MVA has been released, take a look at what you can expect from this year's show.

Call it a takeover, if you will, because the 2009 VMAs will have performances staged all over Manhattan including in the storied Radio City Music Hall where we popped our Moonman cherry way back in 1984. After that one, we were surprised they'd have us back, but they did. So did New York City. In fact, 2009 will mark the 14th time that Gotham will serve as the backdrop for the VMAs.

Our VMA homecoming also marks the return of Russell Brand, who will host the show for a second year in a row. That's right. The same Russell Brand who pulled an unwitting Britney Spears into a golf cart after her third VMA win and whisked her away to watch Kanye West in the final performance of the night. Brand also managed to freak out Jonas Brothers fans everywhere when he got all sorts of nasty discussing the Jo Bros' purity rings. He's funny.

Who does K West think he is? Taylor Swift was so excited about fulfilling a dream and he comes up and steals her moment. She looked like she was gonna cry. It's time for the MVA's to consider "blackballing" him from any future nominations and shows.

well what kanye did was fucking evil however he had a dam good point. single ladies is a rocking vid. taylor video was mediocre. even so the nomination was for best music video and not best new commer, taylor take you country ass nad get the move on. i wish there could be a revote.. but kanyes behavoir was understanable and he didnt put up a race card you fuckers

If that was Rihanna up there and not Taylor Swift, you really think Kanye West would have gone up there and dissed her the way he did Taylor?? I was heartbroken when this happened to Taylor Swift. I wanted to cry for her because she looked soo sad like she wanted to cry..And me, personally use to love kanye..USE TOO being the big terms.. Now I could take all the CD's and throw them in the F**King garbage.. Who the hell do you think you are.. It was soo wrong to do that to Taylor Swift.. She won and it was her time.. What Kanye did was wrong...Simple as that..I do not think that what he did was racailly motivated. I think he had strong feelings and instead of keeping them to himself or among his friends he chose to ruin Taylors night. Whether or not Taylor's video was the best is a mute point. The fact that she won is. I hope next person he tries that with has a bodyguard and knocks him out. He either should be banned from future awards or fined. I say fine him like we fine sports figures for poor judgement. Hit him in his wallet. Thats's where it hurts. What a class act Beyonce is. She could have just let it pass and took her turn up at the microphone, but she gave up her time to let Taylor finish he thoughts. I hope Beyonce gave Kanye an attitude adjustment after the event.
