Time Warp Dance - Attempted!!

It seems like pop-culture sacrilege to remake The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but MTV is taking a swing, under the auspices of the original producer. Get your toilet paper, squirt guns, rice, rubber gloves, noisemakers, confetti, toast, and party hats ready.

Two-hour remake will use the original screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien but may also include music not featured in the original.

Helmer and casting decisions have yet to be announced.

The original play (The Rocky Horror Show) featured a then-unknown guy named Tim Curry, who the director (the brilliant Colin Cook, a former teacher of mine) had to fight tooth and nail for. Curry made the jump to the film version, and into pop-culture history.

The remake could be a great opportunity to find a new musical superstar, but I hope they don't cast via reality series.

jordan, I like this story. It's good stuff. Well Jordan, they can certainly make it, it is getting audiences to watch it, that is the problem, there is no way in hell they will even come close with the original version, in which I have seen more times than I can count.
