The 2009 Much Music Video Awards (MMVA) took place today, June 21, at MuchMusic headquarters in Toronto, Canada. The teenage sensation band -- Jonas Brothers were co-hosting the show.

On the stage, entertainers included Lady Gaga, Jonas Brothers, Kelly Clarkson, Shiloh, Black Eyed Peas, Nickelback and others.

Among celeb appearances, the most notable were Washington Capitals left-winger Alex Ovechkin, gossip blogger Perez Hilton, and singer Tila Tequila. CTVOlympics.com reports some of Canada’s athletes attended the ceremony today. Among them figure skaters Joannie Rochette, Tessa Virtue and Jeff Buttle, as well as bobsleigh brakeman Heather Moyse and snowboard halfpipe competitor Brad Martin.
