Pragya house was awarded the Cock House of the year

MUSOORIE, 30 Nov: The Cock House Shield was won by Pragya House at the Annual Day Function of the Mussoorie Boys’ and Girls’ Schools, that was held, here, today.
The celebrations began with a welcome song presented by the students, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Nagar Palika President OP Uniyal.
The cultural programme began with the song, “God is good all the time.” ‘Ganesh Vandana’ by the students was sung in chorus and much appreciated. The one act play, Cinderella, enacted by the nursery children was the highlight of the day. Small kids dressed up in colourful attire gave an excellent performance. The Makhauta dance, in which a girl student wearing a mask on her back, danced to the tune of the famous old classic by the Late V Shantaram. The English Play, ‘Julius Caesar’, however, stole the show with the confident enactment by the participants, especially Meenakshi and Grace, the students of the school. Other cultural programme presented by the students on the occasion were poems by KG students, the song ‘Chhip Chhip ashra bahana’, prayer dance, Kathputli and Joker dance, song ‘Varisha’.
The Krishna Arjun Samvad was liked immensely by the parents and teachers, alike. The mothers attending the function appreciated the play ‘Betiyan’, which was presented by the senior students of the school. The environmental issues were also highlighted through a play ‘Global Warming’. Bhangra dance was also presented on the occasion.
The function concluded with the prize distribution ceremony. The Chief Guest on the occasion distributed the prizes for Calligraphy to Yash Kumar. The other prizes given on the occasion were to Vansh Suri for story writing, Konika for drawing and painting, Mohd.Zuber for Elocution, Shubham Rawat for Rangoli, and Arvind for Dramatics.
The first prize in academics went to Huma and Shivani Kaintura in KG, Rafe Alam of class IV and Muskan Naithani.
The Best Student Award went to Saurav Kumar Saudiyal and Arvind Kumar.
The Chief Guest on the occasion commended the students for the stupendous cultural performance reiterated the fact that modern education with the traditional form imparted in the school was worth appreciating. He congratulated the prize winners and the teachers for the hard work shown in the year. He further said the school would impart value based service in more years to come. The principal of the school, MS Simon, read out the annual report and highlighted the achievements of the school. She thanked the parents, teachers and the Chief Guest on the occasion.
