Eyewitness account:

Despite the presence of large number of so called serving the poor NGO’s in Mussoorie Trilok Singh Chauhan is Searching for some support from them or the govt in promoting his art work.

Trilok Singh Chauhan an eminent sculptor and figurine artist, passionate about wild life has given shape to many animals like deer, Tigers and his favorite among them all Dinosaurs. Trilok using cement with dexterity brings figurines of gods into life. He has sold more than 100 such artifacts at various places in Garhwal and has been awarded by the Zila Udyog Kendra for his work.Trilok Singh Chauhan

Work can be seen on the mall road in shape of Tigers, Deer and of course Dinosaurs.

Trilok says he likes nature and wildlife along with the religious figures. He started work with merely two hundred Rs in his pocket and some assistance from friends and now can sustain his family with what he is doing.

His next dream is to preserve this dying art of Mussoorie and to teach young and budding artists. But he is an unhappy man due to the apathy of the state govt.

His appeal to the state govt is not for financial help but for promoting the rare art and craft of Mussoorie.Trilok says somberly that if the Govt provides a place for small school where he could teach children about this craft so that they also can support their families in near future. Trilok Chauhan is aptly supported by his wife.He says, “When I am busy with my work she is the one who keeps the suppl;y of tea and food on continuously”.

Trilok Chauhan presently is working on a figure of Godess Durga at the moment.
