Disclaimer: Political rant ahead. I don't care if you read it. I don't care if you like what I have to say. Argue all you'd like. But don't expect me to change my mind.
So, I've been checking out the newly formed Message For Obama group, and while the messages are largely positive, there are those individuals who are not supportive of Obama's politics. And so it goes. What struck me about the women who had negative messages was that most of them were along the pro-life anti-choice line of thought. This reminded me of that hot-button abortion issue that we didn't really hear much about during this campaign (nice for a change). But the more I read what these women were saying, the angrier I got, hence this photographic retort. Not that they really care, but it'll make me feel a hell of a lot better.
Take, for example, this photo. According to one commenter (a self proclaimed 'open female') I am corrupt and perverted and sinful. I get that. But I am thankful I have not been stripped of my rights to be that corrupt, perverted, and sinful individual. Where do you think that you get off passing this sort of judgment? When you find yourself with an unplanned pregnancy and decide to carry the baby to term and live out your values, good for you. Maybe you have. But it's not your choice what I do with my body and, last I checked, the Bush administration hasn't revoked this right in the whole two terms he's been in office.
Same type of argument in this photo. I feel like these anti-choice individuals somehow get the idea that choosing to have an abortion is easy. "No big deal, I'm just going to get this taken care of and go on with my day..." Especially partial birth abortion, or late term abortion. Do you HONESTLY FUCKING THINK that a woman would carry a baby almost to term and then just decide that she doesn't want it anymore? It just doesn't work that way. No woman would ever choose to put herself in this immensely difficult position. And it is not your fucking right to choose for her what to do with her body.
Don't pretend you know what is best for another woman. Be glad that you have choices and respect hers as her own.
That is all. Thank you for listening.
