Nas and Kelis are getting a divorce, just over four years after they were married.

The hip-hop power couple's break-up was initiated by Kelis, who is said to have filed a divorce petition citing irreconcilable differences.

The break up couldn't come at less favourable time, as Kelis is currently pregnant with Nas' child — and the baby is due this summer.

The pregnant R&B songstress is looking to divorce her hip-hop star hubby of more than four years, E! News confirmed Thursday.

"I can confirm that she has filed for divorce," said a rep for Kelis, whose full name is Kelis Rogers-Jones. "We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time."

She and Nas (full name Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones) tied the knot Jan. 8, 2005, in Atlanta after a two-year engagement. The pair are expecting their first child together—a son—this summer. Nas has a teenage daughter from a previous relationship.

Kelis' divorce petition, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, was filed this afternoon, according to Vibe.com, which first reported the breakup. She is asking for spousal and child support, as well as joint custody of their baby.
