An unfounded Natalie Portman death rumor was fluttering about the web Monday. According to the story making the rounds, Natalie Portman died after falling off a cliff in New Zealand.

If the story sounds familiar, that's because it is. A similar story spread about actor Jeff Goldblum on Thursday, the same day that Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died. Even Demi Moore tweeted about it.

According to internet debunker Snopes, these celebrity death stories have been circulating for years. The first dates back to 2006 and states Tom Hanks died while filming in New Zealand. Over the years, similar stories have circulated about George Clooney and Tom Cruise. Earlier today, a similar story was circulated about Miley Cyrus.
