National Film Award 2010: Dabangg Most Popular in India

Government of India announced National Film award for the year 2010, and this year all awards in best film, best director categorizes went to South Indian films. Malyalam, Tamil and Marathi movies swept the leading awards.

Best popular film for wholesome entertainment went to Salman Khan starrer ‘Dabangg’ directed by Abhinav Singh Kashyap. In language category, best Hindi film award went to ‘Do Dooni Char’ directed by Habib Faisal.

Best debut film director award went to Rajesh Pinjani for the feature film Baboo Band Baaja (Marathi)           

Best director award went to Vetrimaran for the Tamil feature film Aadukalam.

Best Actor award went to Dhanush and Salim Kumar jointly for movies Aadukalam (Tamil) and Adaminte Makan Abu (Malayalam) respectively.  

Best Actress award went to Mitalee Jagtap Varadka and Saranya Ponvannan jointly for movies Baboo Band Baaja (Marathi) and Thenmerkku Paruvakkatru (Tamil) respectively.  

Best supporting actor J. Thambi Ramaiah for the movie Mynaa (Tamil)

And best supporting actress award went to Sukumari for film Namma Gramam (Tamil)

Nation of 22 official language.....truly gets reflected in Film Award as well.
