Nazril Irham, Luna Maya and Cut Tari May be in Trouble in Indonesia For Appearing in Two Alleged Sex Tapes

Police are investigating video clips from a few alleged sextapes of three Indonesian celebrities engaging in explicit sex acts. The two tapes are thought to feature Nazril Ilham, a pop singer in the country known as Ariel, and his girlfriend Luna Maya who is a TV journalist and a model. The other video is said to feature Ariel again and another TV journalist and soap opera actor called Cut Tari.

If these tapes are genuine, it will be the first celebrity sextape scandal leaked to the Internet in Indonesia.

All of the celebrities have denied being in the tapes, which circulated the country on the Internet and on mobile phones and have said that the people having sex just look like them. All three have been questioned by police but no one has been charged.

Police have conducted raids on schools and Internet cafes as they think that is where the videos may have been viewed.

Indonesia has an anti-pornography law and if anyone is convicted of breaking that law they could receive up to 12 years in prison.

"We are coordinating with experts and the Ministry of Information to determine who uploaded the video. We will also begin to remove the online links to the video," said Zainuri, deputy spokesman for the national police.

The celebrities could face fines and a prison sentence if they are found guilty, even if the tapes were never intended for public viewing.

The first video, allegedly of Nazril Ilham and Luna Maya, shows a couple in bed together. The other video, slightly longer than the first, allegedly shows Ilham with Cut Tari, who is a former girlfriend of the pop singer.

Ariel has since delayed the release of his new album and both him and Maya no longer appear in a Lux soap ad together, but it is not known if it is related to the scandal.

The country as seen protests by conservative Islamic groups since the release of the videos.

The Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), for instance, issued a statement last Wednesday, saying the alleged actors involved in the video were free-sex devotees, undeserved to be worshiped as idols, if proven guilty.

The videos also provoked the Communications and Information Technology Minister Tifatul Sembiring, who unexpectedly raised a rhetorical question: “Why would anyone tape such a private thing?”

However, an entrepreneur told The Jakarta Post:

“The authorities have double standards. What about porn DVDs or other pornographic materials that are freely sold in the streets across the city?”

The investigation continues.

I think the Indonesian artist sex scandal news had been circulating, but until now the new Indonesian artists in the internet is booming, there are other third parties who deliberately want to destroy the popularity of the artist as she often harass journalists, because previously luna maya scene ever made the problem on the internet an insult and berate a reporter first.;-)
