NBC has shown it will resort to pretty much anything to claw its way back to former glory next TV season, including spinoffs, remakes and even wizards. Some big headlines include: a spinoff for The Office, a confirmation that this is indeed ER's final season, Friday Night Lights will return, Saturday Night Live will air in primetime during the U.S. presidential race and Scrubs has officially left NBC.
According to Variety, the Peacock network revealed at its upfront meeting it will only launch four new shows in the fall, My Own Worst Enemy starring Christian Slater will air Mondays at 10 p.m., Molly Shannon and Selma Blair star as a mother and daughter in Kath & Kim on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m., Ford-approved remake Knight Rider is set for Wednesdays at 8 p.m., and castaway drama Crusoe (based on the classic Daniel DeFoe novel Robinson Crusoe) is set for Fridays at 8 p.m.

Against all odds, cult fave Friday Night Lights will return in the winter. "This is for love," Ben Silverman, the co-chair of NBC Entertainment, told journalists. "We all love it, we all believe in it, and we are going to continue to deliver it, hopefully for years to come."
The network will also air hour-long episodes of The Office in the fall, as well as launching an as-yet-untitled spinoff of the show that will premiere after the Super Bowl. The spinoff will then air Thursdays at 9:30 p.m., after the original show, starting in February.
