NBC's 'Awake': Watch the Pilot Episode Here

Although NBC's new show Awake isn't set to be aired on television until March 1st at 10 p.m., NBC released the first episode to viewers to drum up additional interest in the new drama.

Awake isn't the first television show to get it's premeire online. Many television networks are releasing pilot episodes online to pump viewers up for the first season. NBC experimented with releasing the "Smash" pilot early and apparently liked the outcome.

 "Awake" tells the story of Detective Michael Britten (Jason Isaacs). Britten is in a tragic car accident with his wife and son that splits his life into two alternate realities. In one reality his wife is dead and he's now a single father Rex (Dylan Minnette). In the other, his son is dead and he and his wife Hannah (Laura Allen) attempt to adjust to life after the loss of their child.

Britten has a different partner and a different therapist in each world. Clues from one reality often help solve crimes in the other. "Awake" hails from "Lone Star" creator Kyle Killen and also stars Cherry Jones, B.D. Wong, Michaela McManus and Wilmer Valderrama.
