NBHHCM 2010 Cities of Boston, NYC, and Philly
The big-market cities of Boston, New York, and Philadelphia have proclaimed June as NBHHCM 2010 (National Basketball & Hip-Hop Culture Month).
New York and Philadelphia have a rich history when it comes to hoops and hip-hop culture in America. New York is the "Capital" to the time-period that is known today as The "Dunkadelic-Era." Philadelphia like New York has an urban aesthetic that personifies the hoops and hip-hop fusion.
Boston has a storied basketball history with the Boston Celtics, but dose not have the playground reputation of New York and Philly.
The hip-hop culture in Boston has grown over the years being so close to New York and Philly. The 3 cities along with Baltimore and Washington DC have helped make the north-east section of the country the premiere region for hoops and hip-hop culture.
If superstar LeBron James comes to the NY Knicks or NJ Nets (who will be playing in Brooklyn in 2012) when he becomes a free-agent on July 1st, the #1 player to the hoops and hip-hop culture will be in place that is fit for a "KING."
