Ne-Yo Cries on Stage in Manchester: What Happened?

R&B star Ne-Yo unexpectedly left the stage last night halfway through his Manchester concert, crying in front of an almost sell-out crowd at the M.E.N Areana, but why was he crying?
He has released a statement saying he was suffering from a sinus infection and exhaustion and just needed a break.
"Basically, I have an issue with not knowing when to say enough is enough, so last night in Manchester, my body said it for me," he wrote. "I got on stage energized and ready to go, even tho for the last 5 days I've been dealing with a sinus infection. I paid it no real mind, and kept on going, like I always do. My voice couldn't take it. From the first song I knew something was wrong. I shoulda stopped there, but I come from a school where no matter what, the show must go on...I've never had to stop a show, never dreamed I'd ever have to. So when I had to walk out on that stage and tell 12,000 of the people responsible for making me who I am that I could not perform for them, it literally broke my heart. I cried harder than I have in a very long time with no shame whatsoever...To anyone out there that would like to question my manhood because of this I'll say this to you: If the one thing you cared about more than anything else in the world was threatened or even taken from you, if you knew that the people you cared for the most you had to disappoint and it was your fault... and this didn't spark some kind of emotional outbreak within you...then with no shame I'll say you are truly a stronger man than I." Ne-Yo has said that he felt ill during the show and had to leave the stage; he did say he would return to finish the show for the fans at a later date. He appeared to be really uncomfortable on the stage, and even though the crowd chanted his name, he continued to cry and walked off.
But following a tribute to Michael Jackson with an energetic version of Off The Wall, the star visibly regressed, complaining of illness.
A female singer came out on stage at one point and performed with some dancers, but by 10pm it appeared everyone had given up. Ne-Yo returned to annouce he could not finish and would be back, but the crowd booed for him not being able to finish the concert.
A statement is expected to be released with information for ticket holders.

The man is human.... At least I know that now. I love Ne-yo and regardless of what others say about his personal life, I think he is an amazing artist. Bless him and I hope he does come back and give a great show.

Why's everyone exagerating. He was ill. And for people to boo and leave nasty comments especially when half of them are adults is pathetic. He was ill and hes human at least he tried. Grow up.

very disapointed, couldnt get ticket for hometown newcastle so travelled down to manchester, hotel, tickets time off work, petrol. what a waste, i wont be going at a later date, if there is no real plausable excuse.... shape up ne yo.

Neyo is human and humans have emotions and feelings. If the guy wasn't feeling well what do you say..... I understand the disappointment but the guy tried to push on and his body said no, can't and won't do it. I, personally, still love you, Neyo and applaud you for the effort.

Lmao....he cried because he had a SINUS INFECTION lololololol, imagine we all started cryin when we had sinus problems lmao....maybe his was worse, kinda like man-flu, he had neyoitus. Um. have you not ever had a sinus infection? obviously not one realy bad. Because those suck, they hurt, and it hurts to talk to sing. And your on here hatin because he cried about it. I bet he has more guts than you will ever have. He already had a sinus infection, it probably got worse. Try singing with a bad sinus infection, it doesn't really work out. I would have cried to. He is man enough to cry in front of the whole stage, show some respect here. I am surprised he even got on stage. Because i have had a really bad sinus infection and it brought me to tears. Let along try and sing with one.

There's nothin' wrong bout that.Maybe he's not totally feelin well.At least he performed half way through. Why ther'wer people judging him coz he cried,sayin what a weak ,so shallow,left his spectators bec. of sinus infc blah blah. Why is it that people have so many negative things to say about him? He's not a freaking superhuman....if we have problems we take care of them. People act like they don't take a day off of work, because they were sick. Get real people. He is an amazing entertainer and singer and just had a bad night.

You know how much guts that had to take for him to have say that. I feel so bad for him. I hope he gets better. If he had a sinus infection that took a lot for him to even get on stage in the first place. Those suck, it takes a lot for a man to cry in front of 12,000 fans. At least he is a man for that. I bet he was heart broken because of that. I give him much respect for even having to say that. I hope he gets better. And all the people out there saying how you booed him. Seriously come on, he couldn't finish the concert because of a sinus infection, which sucks, than to have to tell fans. At least he is going to finish it.. He could be a total dick head and say i am not ever going to finish this concert, but did he? No, he didn't because he loves his fans. We make him who he is today. Is it so wrong for a man to cry? How can they boo him?!...Yea I would have been disappointed, but Im a die hard Ne-Yo fan and I would be more worried about his health than upset that he couldn't perform because of it. Its easy for everybody to say "Well he's a performer and those people paid good money!" But if Ne-Yo was in their seats and they were on stage trying to sing, dance and whatever else...feeling like crap the stories would change...[[TRY CATCHING A SINUS INFECTION! IT SUCKS! REALLY WHEN YOUR'RE TRYING TO SING!]] If you're a real fan you would understand. Booing him just brings his self-esteem down. No one should question his manhood because I think it was pretty manly. BUT AT LEAST HE RE-SCHEDULED BECAUSE MOST ARTIST JUST SAY EFF IT...N DONT COME BACK TILL NEXT YEAR!!!!....Ne-Yo is still a GREAT performer for even trying! You guys really should consider putting yourself in his shoes...He knows they paid "GOOD MONEY" and he knows that they wanted to see a show, which makes it harder for him to announce that he couldn't. Not Being Funny But You Might Of Paid For Your Tickets And That But Ino What It Fucking Feels Like To Be Ill On Stage I was Performing In A Play And I Had To Sing In One Scene And I Started Feeling Sick And Dizzy I Never Carried On I Cryed But People Din't Boo Me And They Payed For There Tickets :/

People That Are Saying That Ne-yo Should Man Up And Ting,, You Lot Are all Stupid. Da Guy Was Ill For God's Sake. He Didnt Wanna Dissappoint His Fans That He Loved Thats Why He Even Attemptend To Come On Stage. He is A Human Being, Obviously Its Dissappointing That He Didnt Finish The Concert But With The Amount Of Effort He Does In Performances, He Was Bound To Get Upset Cuz He Was Dissappointed At Himself. IF YOU DONT KNOW. Sinus Infection Can Give You Headaches and Affect You Breathing, and Bare In Mind He Dances As Well. Think Of The Pressure He Was Under Just To Perform And Stop Being Dumb. obviously neyo is a stupid prick for not postponing the concert when he knew he had the infection earlyier, while actually still going on with the concert and wasting everybodys time just to get there, now thats pretty pefetic.. it to make things worst his trying to get people to feel sorry for him by crying over a sinus infection ... really now neyo is just a dumb ugly mother fucker.

i feel for the guy we nornally dont realizet that verious artist work hard ot hard infact just to satify us as fans they only want the best for us but we r to narrow minded to realise that i understand that his body felt enough is enough so go ne yo u r a sexy and gourgous hunk i realy do admire u your lips body and everything u are there is just one thing i would love is to c u in person or at least talk to you in any possible way.
