Susan Boyle's Hometown gets a Phone Call

Singing star and instant celebrity Susan Boyle said when she appeared on 'Britain's Got Talent' on April 11th that she had never had a boyfriend, and had in fact, never been kissed. Well according to her neighbour Brian Smith in Blackburn Scotland, she has in fact been kissed.

Mr. Smith says that he kissed Susan Boyle about three years ago after her mother Bridget, passed away and Susan was really upset.

Mr Smith, 51, who has known her for 30 years, told the Daily Mirror: "It's not true Susan's never been kissed.

"I've given her many a peck on the cheek to say 'Don't worry, everything's going to be all right'.

"She comes to me when she needs help or a shoulder to cry on. She's been through difficult and very low times in the past few years.

"She's a lovely lady, really kind and generous. She would make a great catch for any man."

When Susan Boyle appeared on the show and sang 'I Dreamed a Dream' from Les Miserables, the whole audience rose to their feet.
Mr. Smith says about Susan that:

"I never knew her to have a birthday party because she was busy caring for her mother.

"When she was left alone in that house she went through extremely down times. She wouldn't come out for three or four days or answer the door or phone."

Do you think a peck on the cheek counts for being kissed though?

maybe Mr. Smith would like some fame too.  We all know the kiss on the cheek is not what Susan means. A kiss on the cheek can be passionate but the majority of the time its just a greeting.

Maybe this fame will introduce her to more people and she will find her love. Hopefully they will love her for herself and not her fame/money.

lets hope its not like this report gets from a guy (kind of funny)

Hmm. I don't think that's what Susan meant either.

Yes I agree with the comments above, I'm sure she didn't mean a peck on the cheek either! Hopefully now she will be able to get out more and get a real kiss!

What Ms Boyle needs to be concerned about now are the negative issues relating to glory & fame

The sad and negative issues that arise because she is now fodder for the Papparazzi and Gossipers who will milk her name for all it's worth, even if it's a tiny bit of useless trivia.

If her neighbor doesn't know the difference between a peck on the cheek and a passionate kiss out of adoration, then he must not of been kissed to often either.

No...I don't think a peck on the cheek counts.  I mean come on, is that what all the fuss is about? For a second there I thought Susan Boyle had been lying about never being kissed.  But we all know she meant kiss as in on the lips...romantically.
