Now this is a book worth reading and rather fascinating, maybe more to me than others since it is about Niger and its mixed race families.

It is called "Histoire des foyers des metis de la colonie du Niger". Unfortunately so far only available in French, yet for those that do speak and read French and great book of facts and history of the metis in Niger!

The author Albert Ferral has already published many good books such as "Catalogue des oeuvres artisanales du Niger" ( Catalogue of Niger Art master pieces) in 1977 and "Coiffures Africaines ou art de la tresse" ( Africain hair stiles and the art of of Africain coiffure) in 1988.

Now this latest book is rather important, since it does talk of a subject largely avoided by Natives as well as by the former Colony's Power, France. Albert Ferral the author likes to emphasize that this latest book is not a novel but a rather a historical witness account that needs to be tackled with!

The book has been published in Niamey Niger.
