New Moon Box Office Report

UPDATE # 7 - After two weeks, the movie has grossed $230.6 million. The budget was recently reported to have been $50 million.

UPDATE # 6 - Weekend box office is $140.7 million. The third biggest opening of all-time, under The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 3. The movie also grossed $118 million internationally. So, the worldwide total is $258.8 million.

UPDATE # 5 - Some insiders are saying $43 million for Saturday, but it could be more.

UPDATE # 4 - The opening day gross is $72.7 million.

UPDATE # 3 - Insiders are leaking information on New Moon's opening day box office. They're saying that it could beat The Dark Knight's record of $67.2 million. As of this evening, the movie has grossed $50 million. And, remember, it's only night time on the East coast. So, there's a potential that it'll gross over $70 million.

UPDATE # 2 - Several theaters re-released the first Twilight last night. It was billed as a double feature with New Moon. That re-release grossed $1.3 million. That increases the movie's domestic total to $192.7 million.

UPDATE # 1 - The official gross is $26.3 million

Has the Twilight saga's New Moon broken box office records? Well, that's the early word. According to insiders, the second installment in the popular franchise grossed $23-24 million during the midnight advanced screening. If true it would have broken the record set by this summer's latest Harry Potter movie. I'll let you know when official numbers are released.
