New Trailer for Max Payne Movie Released

I have to admit, video game movies usually don't do very well. It's very difficult to translate a more interactive, hands-on experience into a passive one like a movie, and often the gimmicks or sheer fun of playing the game helped a gamer look past a shoddy plot and poor graphics.

Mark Wahlberg is playing Max APyne, the film-noir-esque protagonist from the series of the same name. In the game, Payne is framed for murder and forced to run from his fellow police officers, and he spends the entire time running around shooting at bad guys, trying to clear his name.

While we suspect the plot will be similar, and there will be nods to the original game, the trailer seems to show a very different style of movie than the game was. And this might be a good thing.

Here's the trailer, because you'll probably want to check this out.

The guys over at FilmWeb posted the movie trailer for the big screen video game adaptation of Max Payne starring Mark Wahlberg, Chris O'Donnell, Beau Bridges, Ludacris, Mila Kunis, Donal Logue, and Amaury Nolasco.

The film is due out this October.

Some bloggers are quite excited about the trailer, too:

The movie trailer for the big screen video game adaptation of Max Payne is now online at filmweb . Thanks to /Film reader Michal S for the tip. I’m really impressed by the visual stylings of director John Moore who seemed to capture the slow-motion action sequences, including Mark Wahlberg’s slow motion dive which is ripped directly from the game.

I am so fucking excited for this. Max Payne, and the sequel were amazing games for their time and I'm so happy that a movie is about to do it right. Well, for the most part. Mark W. doesn't exactly look like Max Payne, but he has the monologues right at least.

The only thing I can hope for in the movie is that those angels are dream sequences or some painkiller overdose. Also, I saw hints at Max's back story, which is fantastic that they are not leaving that out. (why would he freak out and kill people in the first place?)

Here’s the trailer for the long-awaited Max Payne movie starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. I remember playing this game years ago and liking it but the thought that it would make a great movie never crossed my mind. Well, I’m glad somebody thought it would because it actually looks badass. Max Payne hits theatres October 17th.
It looks like the first trailer for the upcoming movie adaptation of Max Payne has leaked onto the interwebs today. The film, based on Remedy's third person action game series, is due for release in October and stars Mark Walhberg (currently in movie theaters in The Happening) as the title hero. From what we can tell the trailer has all of the shoot-em-up style of action that the games have and also it looks like it has some of the weird dream-like sequences that the games have had as well.
