New Vitaminwater 2010 ad Campaign Epic Night

Vitamin Water’s latest ad campaign features Kid Cudi and Steve Aoki, also known as DJ Kid Millionaire.

Steve Aoki, hailing from Los Angeles, CA and Kid Cudi, most recently based in Brooklyn, NY are in Vitamin Water ads on YouTube.

The ads feature part animation and part live action footage. The drink is intended to appeal to those taking time for themselves, while getting in a little extra boost.

Will the sales pitch work? Brightly colored liquid choices for the drink may be discouraging water drinkers from trying the beverage, while Gatorade and soda connoisseurs may be turned off by the word “water” in the title.

Kid Cudi: Chart Topping Hip-Hop Star

Born in Cleveland, OH, this 26-year-old hip-hop star has already gained serious momentum since the release of his debut single "Day 'n' Nite" in 2008. Rolling Stone considered Cudi among the magazine's Top Five best indie hip-hop artists of 2008.

His album Man on the Moon: The End of Day released in September of 2009 sold over 100,000 copies in its first week of release.

Aoki to work with Weezer, Lil Jon and Kid Cudi on New Album

Steve Aoki, known as DJ Kid Millionaire, has already earned a number of awards since 2007, including Best DJ of the Year from Paper Magazine in 2007, Cover of LA Times’ West Magazine (2007), and even Best Mix Album of the Year (Billboard, 2008).

Aoki has remixed a number of chart-topping artists like The Killers, Timbaland, and the All American Rejects. He is also behind Dim Mak Records and Weird Science, a production group. In his next album, he is planning on collaborating with Weezer, Lil Jon and Kid Cudi.

Aoki has also helped develop a number of fashion lines, including eyewear, headwear and bags. He is also working on starting a new collection of clothing for men and women, with his sister Devon.

Vitamin water contributes to the throw-away plastic bottle problem.

You can do better using a stainless steel bottle of home tap water and popping a few vitamins.

I hate this product.

It's not environmentally "green" and the companies who make it use up the water in the underground aquifers, (such in Lancaster, PA) and can take essential water from homes and wells within the area.

Humans don't need vitamin water.

Thanks for your input, and I definitely couldn't agree more. I find bottled water in general completely ridiculous. It is a personal decision, though, to make the switch. I'm a heavy water drinker myself and don't mind water right out of the tap.

Vitamin Water can't take all of the blame. You have to remember that soda companies are still going strong, using just as much plastic, with a product that consists of water and sugar.

In my opinion, it's more of a society change that's probably not going to happen for generations. Not to say that we should just give up, I think the best thing to do is change ourselves and become a role model for others to follow.
