New York Hosts Dark Knight Premiere
Anticipation continues to build toward the much-hyped opening weekend of The Dark Knight, as the film had its world premiere screening in New York last night, with the film's stars and family of the late actor Heath Ledger in attendance.
The Dark Knight opens on July 16, 2008 in Australia, July 18, 2008 in North America, and July 24, 2008 in the UK.
Christian Bale, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman walked down the black carpet at the world premiere of The Dark Knight in New York.Celebrity guests Josh Hartnett, Emile Hirsch, and Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick, Penn Badgley and Blake Lively also turned up at the AMC Lincoln Square.
Heath Ledger's family, including his dad Kim and mum Sally Bell, flew in from Australia to attend the star-studded screening to see the late actor's performance as the Joker, but they skipped the dark carpet, which tied in with the film's darker atmosphere.
Christian Bale, who reprises his role as the Caped Crusader, gushed about the film, saying: "It's great. I hope it lives up to their expectations. It's wonderful when you've worked on something so hard and it's a great cast, and a great filmmaker. I hope that it's going to be appreciated but let's not speak too soon."
Director Christopher Nolan added: "I feel very excited that there's so much anticipation around the film but obviously, that in itself is somewhat daunting.
"The film has a lot to live up to now so hopefully we've done it right."

These photos are from the July 11 premiere in Montpelier Vermont. Senator Patrick Leahy (a lifelong Batman fan) has a small role in the film, and convinced Warner Bros. Chairman and CEO Barry Meyer to premier the film in Vermont as a fundraiser for a local library. The event raised $100k for the library. The movie was shown on two screens and was completely sold out. People flew in from Ireland, Holland, and across the US to attend. Crowd reaction to the picture was overwhelmingly positive.

All these shots are from the Niagara Falls, NY Dark Knight event. There was a great turnout and it was a lot of fun to see the Tumbler and Batpod close up.

I can't wait. Does anyone else think Batman has the scariest, most convincingly evil villains?

This is obviously a work in progress, and is just one of many test exercises before were jump feet first into our first published comic work. This is actually only the second line art piece I've attempted to color so, our hopes are high for the future.
On a side note... We love Batman and can not wait til the 18th.
Thanks for your interest in our work and please feel free to comment.

Photo that me another fellow photographer took. The make up and hair was done by her, so was the whole idea. This was taken in the middle road in downtown Atlanta. Post production was all done by me.

The Dark Knight Posters has apparently been vandalized by the Joker. Most of the posters have been covered with graffiti.

With all the hype about the Dark Knight, we just wanted to report that he has been seen in Virginia fighting Super Fungi!

This is the actual Batmobile from the movie Batman Begins on display during the British Formula 1 Grand Prix 2008 at Silverstone Circuit in England. This same car is used in the upcoming new Batman movie, The Dark Knight - which reunites Christian Bale as Batman, the vigilante crime-fighter tormented by personal tragedy, and co-stars Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman.

It will be a travesty if Heath Ledger does not win an Oscar for this role. Nothing could top this.
