Nicole Crowther Fired for Glee Prom Spoiler (Spoiler Alert)
Nicole Crowther: Glee Extra Tweets Prom King-Queen Spoiler (Spoiler Alert!)
Nicole Crowther, an actress working as an extra on Glee, took to Twitter to unload a major spoiler: she tweeted the names of the Glee prom king and queen.
As one would expect, Glee co-creator Brad Falchuck brought out the big guns, saying that Nicole Crowther will never work in this town again. Meanwhile, gleeks around the globe went ballistic. Crowther deleted her Twitter account, but a cached version still exists.
For her part, Nicole Crowther said that she was drunk when she tweeted the Glee spoiler, adding, "just kill me i feel terrible". Crowther also confirmed that there will be no reshoots- the Glee season finale will unfold as it was originally shot.
Glee Prom Spoiler Alert: Prom King and Queen Revealed
Okay, this is the spoiler...
Nicole Crowther's original tweet (now cached), read "K is PQ and Ka is PK," she tweeted. This would mean that Kurt will be Prom Queen and Dave Karofsky will be Prom King.
Is Nicole Crowther Done in Hollywood?
Note that Glee's production team seems to think it's more powerful in Hollywood than it really is: look how petulant they get when artists refuse them the use of certain songs. What Nicole Crowther did was not a real-life crime (for which Los Angeles has an infinite capacity to forgive), but a transgression within the world of show creation itself. That spells disaster, at least in the short term.
Indeed, Fox, which airs Glee, is furious, and is considering amending day-player contracts to include a nondisclosure clause, which means that future Glee leakers (Wikigleeks?) could be sued.
Still, chin up, Ms. Crowther: Hollywood has a pretty short memory, and comebacks are de rigeur.
