Nicole Kidman has given birth to a baby girl named Sunday. Perhaps the baby was a day late?

What day of the week would you name your baby? Vote here.

Nicole Kidman has delivered her first child, a baby girl, her agent, Wendy Day, said.

Sunday Rose Kidman Urban was born in the American country music capital of Nashville just before midnight on Monday Eastern Australian standard time, weighing 6 pounds 7.5 ounces (2.93 kilograms).

I don't know, the name Sunday is a little pastoral for my taste. Friday feels more urban somehow. Or how about the more inclusive "Weekday."

In the Greek Orthodox Calendar, July 7th falls on AGIA KIRIAKI'S name day, which translates into SAINT SUNDAY..a female saint.  I wonder if Keith and Nicole know this fact!  I know it because I was also born on July the 7th.

Mariaki sent me an expanded note about this. Thanks Maria!

"Nicole and Keith chose Sunday for their little girl's name. I am Greek Christian Orthodox and I too was born on the 7th of July. This date on our religious calendar represent 'AGIA KIRIAKI', which translates into SAINT SUNDAY in english.
A female saint....

Kyriaki the Great Martyr

Saint Kyriake was the daughter of Christian parents, Dorotheus and
Eusebia. She was given her name because she was born on Sunday, the day of
the Lord (in Greek, Kyriake). She contested in Nicomedia during the
reign of Diocletian, in the year 300. After many bitter torments she
was condemned to suffer beheading, but being granted time to pray
first, she made her prayer and gave up her holy soul in peace.

I'm not even aware if Nicole even knows this fact, or did they just name her Sunday because they felt like it... I wish I could tell them!!"

Sunday

Hey Jarrett my name is Sunday and I too am a Greek Orthodox. Kyriaki was my paternal grandmothers name so the first daughters were named after her.  My cousin is called Kathy to be more "American" my Mom said I was always a "Sunday". To this day I still have the Agia Kyriaki Icon she gave to me...So when an actress finally used the name Sunday you would laugh at the amount of messages that I received but I thought wow it took awhile!!!One final thought I have an Aunt Friday!!! Thea Paraskeve and here they would call her Vivian?!  When I was in Greece my relatives got a kick out of the fact that I was called Sunday and I told my Thea that she would be  Friday I thought she would excuse me pee herself she laughed so hard...

Be well

Sunday

I saw Keith in concert in June, a day after Nicole's birthday. She was at the concert and Keith had everyone sing happy birthday to her. It was sweet how he surprised her by that! Keith Urban is awesome concert!

Apparently we now know why the baby was named Sunday:

""Sunday Rose" was inspired by an Australian arts patron notorious for her lurid love life."
