Nobel prize jury members must have taken care of Chinese stand on Nobel peace prize issue while finalising the winner.This years peace award won by peace negotiatorMartti Ahtisaari from Finland.Amidst of Chinese outcry of political biasedness of nobel foundation regarding peace prize , this years result must have pleased the chinese authority.
Finland's ex-president has been the UN special envoy for talks on the final status of Kosovo and mediated a 2005 accord in Indonesia's Aceh province.
Mr Ahtisaari told Norwegian broadcaster NRK he was "very pleased and grateful" to receive the award.
The laureate wins a gold medal, diploma and 10m Swedish kronor ($1.42m).
The Nobel committee commended Mr Ahtisaari, 71, "for his important efforts, on several continents and over more than three decades, to resolve international conflicts".
"He has figured prominently in endeavours to resolve several serious and long-lasting conflicts," mentioning his roles in Namibia, Aceh, Kosovo and Iraq,Northern Ireland, in Central Asia and on the Horn of Africa,"
