Normandy Invasion Remembered

Sixty-four years ago, 156,000 troops — including many black soldiers like the ones shown above — landed on the Normandy coast of France in the largest invasion force in history. They moved upon the “Order
of the Day” statement issued by Supreme Allied Commander General Dwight
Eisenhower to the soldiers, sailors and airmen of the Allied
Expeditionary Force on June 6, 1944 which I recommend you read.

Unlike the aforementioned black soldiers, most of today’s Democratic Party leaders — including presidential nominee Barack Obama — have yet to display the sense of duty and honor that prevailed during World War II and gushes from Eisenhower’s order (click here to read).

Regardless of what any future situation might hold, I struggle to conceive of any situation which might lead someone like Obama to use words — and mean what he says — that carry the confidence, resolve and strength of Eisenhower.
