Notes from Underground: Words from the American Taliban
It is always good to remember why it is that we are in a pluralistic democracy, with freedom of speech, separation of church and state, and civil rights and liberties. These quotes from the "American Taliban", made by Ann Coulter, Pat Buchannan, Michael Savage, Gary North, and others, serve as a reminder that America also harbors its own version of Hezballah, or literally, the party of God.
The " Why I hate Barack Obama " speech of August 16, in which the President's death was prayed for, is one more reminder that vigilance is called for.
"The long-term goal of Christians in politics should be to gain exclusive control over the franchise. Those who refuse to submit publicly to the eternal sanctions of God by submitting to His Church's public marks of the covenant–baptism and holy communion–must be denied citizenship."
"This is God's world, not Satan's. Christians are the lawful heirs, not non-Christians.".
. . George Bush was not elected by a majority of the voters in the United States, he was appointed by God.. .
"Rail as they will about 'discrimination,' women are simply not endowed by nature with the same measures of single-minded ambition andthe will to succeed in the fiercely competitive world of Western capitalism.". . .
"There should be absolutely no 'Separation of Church and State' in America."

I am confused about who actually made this speech in quotes.
I cannot add anything more than what lorac stated.
It just furthers my resolve that the government we have protects us from such extremists; however, it is frightening to know these ideas are out there, and some actually believe it.

Oh, yes, I probably should have been clearer on the exact quotes when I copied and pasted from the page. If you click on "Source", it will take you to the page, and you can see exactly who said what. One was Pat Buchannan, another was Gary North. But they are all there on the Source page - many things said by American radicals who believe that they are speaking about a Republic never meant to be a democracy.
