New York Times Magazine writer and blogger Benoit Denizet-Lewis has confirmed on his site that Tiger Woods is indeed undergoing treatment in a sex rehabilitation clinic.

On his blog, Denizet-Lewis said that a "source" has confirmed to him that Woods is receiving treatment at the Pine Grove in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, as was previously reported. Denizet-Lewis noted there is no way to confirm with the clinic itself due to confidentiality issues. Denizet-Lewis is a relationship and culture expert, specializing in writing about sex, sexuality, gender and youth culture. He is also the author of "America Anonymous: Eight Addicts In Search Of Life." Denizet-Lewis, who himself suffered from a sex addiction, spent time at Pine Grove interviewing people he followed for his book. He says the rehab program at Hattiesburg was founded by the world's leading expert in sex addiction.

Denizet-Lewis says rehabilitation at Hattiesburg involves group and couple therapy. He also says that if Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren are serious about repairing their marriage, Nordegren will show up at the facility.

Here is an example of the kind of sex rehab exercises that Denizet-Lewis says clients are forced to go through:

men who had repeatedly cheated on their wives had to write “empathy letters” to them, which would never be sent but were read in group and usually criticized for not being nearly empathetic enough. The wives, meanwhile, wrote painful “cost letters”—detailing how the addiction had affected them—that were read to their husbands for the first time in group by another group member.

Some people think Tiger Woods is playing the sex addiction card in order to salvage his ruined reputation, and to get back into the good graces of his  fans, his sponsors, and most importantly, his wife.  Is Tiger really addicted to sex, or is this just another publicity ploy? See the article entitled Is Tiger Woods REALLY a Sex Addict - Check This List and Decide for Yourself  at   bit.ly/8vpqy8  There's a list of behaviors common to sex addicts.   Does Tiger fit the profile?    What do you think?   You can also find this article on the National Infidelity Examiner page at Examiner.com

After reading the common list of behaviors of sex addicts,  I, too, believe Tiger is a sex addict.  Hopefully his therapy will be successful and they can save their marriage. It worked for Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, so maybe it will work for Tiger and Elin.

A sex addiction usually involve having sex out of inpulse. These incident are usually not pre-detremined because you are acting on impulse without emotion. This is a fling. But when you see the person on other occassions that is pre-meditated then its an affair and not a fling. That's not sex addition.
