Under the new rules, an ODI match will be permitted only two power-plays during a 50 over innings, instead of the present three.

The first Power-play will be restricted to the first 10 overs, with only two fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle.

The second five-over batting Power-play will have to be completed by the 40th over and only three fielders will be allowed outside the fielding restrictions, at the time of the delivery.

During the none-power-play overs, no more than four fielders will be permitted outside the 30-yard circle.

Today’s match is scheduled to start at 1.30 p.m and will be played at Pallekele Cricket Grounds in Kandy, if the weather permits.

Kiwi’s are here to play five ODI’s and three test matches against the Lankans, while the one off T20 matches which was played between the two sides was abandoned due to bad weather.
