Noel Gallagher may be a touch scrappy, but he isn't much of a boxer and he isn't generally prepared for a punch-up while in the midst of an Oasis gig.

Gallagher received a couple of bruised ribs after a fan jumped on stage and attacked him during a concert in Toronto.

Apparently he had a 'bad feeling' about the gig earlier in the day, but the band went ahead with it anyway.
Noel Gallagher has spoken out about being pushed on stage at an Oasis gig in Canada, saying he feels like he has been fighting with a champion boxer.

Writing on the band's website, the musician said he "feels like I've had a sparring session with Ricky Hatton".

He added the fan "evaded our crack security team and assaulted my midriff" at Sunday's gig in Toronto.

Toronto man Daniel Sullivan, 47, has been charged over the incident, which forced Oasis to postpone a concert.

It has been rescheduled for 15 December.

Gallagher was admitted to hospital after the attack, but had returned to the stage shortly afterwards to continue performing.

The band's website stated that he suffered bruising to his hips and ribs and had fallen heavily into his monitor speakers as they performed (What's The Story) Morning Glory?

The 41-year-old also said in his blog entry that he had a "bad feeling" before the concert took place, but then joked that it would give him extra time in New York.

The incident came as the band performed the title track to their 1995 album (What's The Story) Morning Glory?
Although Gallagher's injuries were relatively minor, the band has still cancelled several subsequent gigs as a result, including a scheduled performance in New York City:
Looks like there's no Oasis in sight for parched fans presently roaming the vast deserts of New York City. According to an announcement on their website today, the Britpop juggernauts have been forced to cancel tomorrow night's (September 12) performance at Terminal 5 in NYC, owing once again to injuries incurred by Noel Gallagher during Sunday's Toronto assault incident.
