Obama and Immigration reform
The charge that Mr. Obama is an international socialist, who would use amnesty as a smokescreen for a Trojan Horse , which would allow a liberal socialism to enter the US , and to gain a foothold and a majority within America's borders, is an interesting one. I find it interesting because Europe - in particular Great Britain and France - hasmore or less openly endorsed such an idea within their own borders:
Could it be, perchance, that globalization is pushing the nations in such a direction? And that President Obama, far from being a ghoulish and cunning leader, is rather symptom, consequence, incident of our times, our global tendencies? That this tendency is fated, and accelerating?
Conversely, a reversal of such a tendency is increasingly making itself known, here and abroad. There has been talk of a return to nationalism and regionalism and localization of industry and identity, and if such is the case, it would mean that the 1990s Global Multicuturalism doctrine was an end, and not a beginning; an apex and reversal, and not the reverse.
Just for the record, I have always understood where Obama was going to stand regarding illegal immigrants (embracing amnesty, within reason). A rational argument might be made that if people have fled to this country to escape harms, and are not engaged in criminal activity but working and contributing, then they should be granted amnesty, because it is the democratic thing to do.
If Rep. Joe Wilson fears globalism and multiculturalism - or rather, the globalizing and multiplicity trends which are changing the face and shape of the American "republic" - then one may grasp why he burst out as he did. The question is this: For those who fear globalism and multiculturalism, and the Europeanization of America, was not the time to stop such a tendency lost about 3 decades ago?
( In any case, a main beef of Democrats with Rep. Wilson was not that he said "You lie", but that he shouted it aloud on the Congressional floor while the President was giving an address, an unprecedented event. Had he remained silent, and the next day written an OpEd piece entitled, "Obama, You Lie", most would have had no complaint, as freedom of speech allows all sides to do such. If Wilson had a real concern about immigration reform under Obama, there was a better way to handle it.)
The concern is that this matter of immigration reform will be a massive dividing issue, adding to an already divided nation's problems :
Mr. Obama is an internationalist socialist. His ultimate goal is to erect a liberal ruling class: to forge a Democratic majority coalition -- one that would dominate for decades. Amnesty would put millions of illegal immigrants into the voting booths -- and into the welcoming arms of Democrats.
Amnesty also would sound the death knell of traditional America. It would signify a cultural revolution, the establishment of a de facto bilingual, binational Tower of Babel. It would be Mr. Obama's most radical -- and destructive -- achievement.
The Washington Times reports that Barack Obama has finally concluded that Joe Wilson was right, and that ObamaCare presents a big problem in handling illegal immigrants. Fortunately, the White House has found a solution to the problem. No, they’re not going to beef up enforcement or require identification before receiving subsidies and services. They’re just going to offer amnesty so that no one’s illegal anymore:President Obama said this week that his health care plan won’t cover illegal immigrants, but argued that’s all the more reason to legalize them and ensure they eventually do get coverage.
He also staked out a position that anyone in the country legally should be covered - a major break with the 1996 welfare reform bill, which limited most federal public assistance programs only to citizens and longtime immigrants.
“Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don’t simply believe we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken,” Mr. Obama said Wednesday evening in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. “That’s why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else.
Mr. Obama added, “If anything, this debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all.”

Hi Hyscience.com, I think you never went to school or probably failed in many courses. Or you probably have to re-take history 101. America has always been a multicultural and multiracial nation. And, if many americans are jobless that is because they failed to utilize govt help and never completed their education. How many mbas from harvard are jobless? how many lawyers from yae are jobless? Probably, none!! So, you didn't work hard, and chased fantasies when it was time to shape your career by getting top professional education, and now, you are blaming everything on immigrants. If an immigrant named Kutilda would not have brought here by an american soldier we would have never had Tiger Woods. If an immigrant from Kenya had not married to an american girl we would not have had the first black american president. You like it or not, but this guy worked and studied so hard that he left lazy people like you behind. Now, please stop talking non-sensical stuff and get your next dishwashing job.
