I was going to get some snacks at the Grocery, as I was picked as one of the 18,000 volunteers (out of 80,000 applicants) for the Inauguration Day festivities and we were going to have a long day. Needed to get some sustenance for the next days events. Walking in in a good mood, excited to be a part of this historic day.. I walked in (actually I think I skipped in) and right there was a table FULL of of Obama cakes.. Well.. you know I had to take a picture or two... I thought it was funny.. hilarious actually that there were cakes there with the Presidents face.. thinking... How far will some go to support the incoming administration??
Now I know!!

Hooray! So many "CAKES for CHANGE!" Or, as my good friend Nicole says "BATTER FOR BETTER!!
That is a great opportunity. I'd love to here more about your experience. How the heck did you find out about applying for that? Very cool!

One of my good friends asked me if I wanted to be a part.. and I said sure..We joined as a group.. she and I.. so we could do it together. They said in the application not to get too excited about being Picked....so my surprise when I got an email bout 3 weeks later.. and I quickly asked my friend if she did.. and she didn't!! NO!! SO... over a 2 week period of time.. we found otu she was picked too!!! We had such a great day.. a long day and a cold day but good day nonetheless.. Check Out my photos..!!!
