Obama California acting stupidly over Arizona illegal aliens
While Californians prepare to legalize marijuana smoking statewide (even though it's against federal law) are announcing they will not conduct business with Arizona and calling for a boycott of the state over its decision to enforce federal laws covering illegal aliens, gangs, kidnapping and human sex slave trafficking.
California officials are marijuana smoking mad about Arizona getting tough on illegal aliens crossing its border with Mexico. California's border with Mexico is fenced off thanks to Arizonans tax dollars support. California elected representatives are saying it is an outrage for Arizona to call for the enforcement of federal laws covering illegal aliens. There is no word yet if California will issue a recall of its overflow of illegal alien gang members housed in Arizona's prisons.
We are waiting to hear from California Governor Schwarzenegger whether he will be calling for a special marijuana smoking summit of state officials to see what other actions should be taken against Arizona.
Arizonans are saying (can't we all just get along.).
Arizona has over a half million illegal aliens. The city of Phoenix with a population of 1.5 million and a crime rate equal to New York City with a population of 8.3 million; illegal aliens cost Arizona citizens over 90 billion dollars a year with state government services being paid out for their support. Arizona shells out 3 million dollars plus per day to incarcerate illegal aliens. Arizona spends 850 million tax dollars or more a year to teach Mexicans to speak English. The list goes on and on but to the point, Arizonans are saying, hey we are as broke as California. With that information, Californians just cannot figure out why Arizonans are preparing for Alamo II.
President Obama has once again injected himself into another state issue reinforcing his famous words (they're acting stupidly) by calling for the U.S. Justice Department to investigate Arizona's actions as a civil rights issue, to determine if Arizona can enforce federal laws covering illegal aliens. President Obama assures Americans the millions of state and federal tax dollars spent in courts suing Arizona, will be well worth it politically for him and his future presidential library.
President Obama's first orders in office was to send a team of civil rights attorneys to investigate Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio to see if they could find any wrong doings in his job performance that could bring about federal charges against the Sheriff for enforcing federal illegal alien laws. To date, well over a year later they have not hit pay dirt; but their not giving up as long as they have your tax dollars backing them up.
California is telling Arizona to legalize pot smoking to bring an end to their border drug smuggling problem and make a few extra billions in taxes. In addition, Arizona could make billions more from illegal aliens driving while under the influence of smoking marijuana. Don't worry about traffic deaths, millions of illegal aliens are on the way to replace them and they all have (Free Health Care wink-wink) thanks to President Obama.
California may consider cutting Arizona some slack if they legalize what Obama's old group Acorn started (with American tax dollars) and that is prostitution of illegal alien women and children. That would end Arizona being the sex slave trafficking capital of the world. It would also bring in a few billion dollars extra in taxes from Californian citizens being (re-authorized) back in Arizona state to conduct business,(wink-wink).
California with its history of becoming a state over a little thing called a holocaust against American Indians, and still fighting them every step of the way in state and federal courts from regaining their lands today, are taking the highest moral ground in telling Arizonans they are (bad people) for their actions against illegal aliens in their state.
President Obama with executive powers, a majority in the house and senate says he is powerless to take action. Until congress puts their head on the political chopping block, Obama will continue his nationwide tour on the tax payers dime, trashing Arizonans while assuring his place in American history as our greatest (Presidential Civil Rights Leader) standing up for illegal aliens in our nation; all the while trying to imprison American citizens defending themselves and their state with federal law in hand.
President Obama wants to make it (Perfectly Clear) that our nations' problem with illegal aliens rests solely on the shoulders of those (do nothing) republicans.
Attention American tax-paying citizens, wake up! Make your vote count this coming November and 2012. It's still your country until Japan and China issues President Obama and Congress a foreclosure notice on your bank account and our nation.
Do you know where your illegal aliens are tonight.

The really funny thing about all of this is that in almost every survey, 70% of the respondents agree with the approach and probable cause element of this law.
Charles Krauthammer said that this makes it that 70% of "Fringe Racists" like the fact that a State Government enforces Federal Immigration Law on a Local/State level.
I will only cast a vote for people who wish to uphold the Constitution as it was written as opposed to how one wants to bend it to suit their CONTROL agenda.
Good contribution.

There are no "illegal aliens" - there are persons who are in the United States illegally. They themselves are not "illegal," but their entry into the US violated US laws. I think that part of the concern with the Arizona law is racial profiling. While the law itself does not incorporate profiling, the application of the law most likely would. Imagine that you a "Mexican descent" or even "Native American" (as you know many US Native Americans have similar appearances to Mexicans) multi-generational US citizen with documents and that you have to be stopped to show your documents while the "white" Canadian without documents in the car next to you gets to buzz by without a problem. I think that many are concerned about the potential for abuse in the application of the law. Of course there are also human rights issues. I would never encourage for someone to enter the US illegally, I would never abet an illegal entry to the US, nor would I hire people without proper documents if I were an employer. At the same time, the so-called "illegal aliens" are human beings, not cattle. Why not go after the employers? Why not deal with border issues in a way that would prevent illegal entry to the US as well as prevent civil rights violations? There has to be another way. It's likely everyone feels there is a problem, regardless of their position on this law. It's not convenient to California or Arizona (unless we look at it from a labor perspective - another issue I suppose since some US citizens have benefited from their presence here)... so why not get all the people with diverse opinions together to solve the problem without creating animosity? You are concerned that there is a President claims to be pro-civil rights? Humm... By the way, a lot of those "illegal aliens" are mostly "native" descent. With reference to native rights on the continent, that makes the situation a bit trickier, doesn't it?

That is indeed my concern with the law. Living down here I know its inevitable. It happened even when it wasnt legally sanctioned.
Besides I think its innanely arrogant on the part of people who were also lucky enough to be born here.

There's nothing "tricky" about obeying a law - you either obey it or you don't. If you break a law and you get caught - you pay the price. U.S. Constitution, Article IV, Section 4, states: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence." A blind man can see our Federal Government is NOT protecting us (every state) against invasion of illegals via the U.S./mexican border. Protection of U.S. citizens is therefore left to the states and citizens themselves. Common sense if you wish to survive. In my opinion, illegals are not people - they are criminals. Because they intentionally broke our laws to get here, we must assume they are here to do us harm, be it physical harm, financial harm, psychological harm, cultural harm, environmental harm, etc. I don't care what gender, religion, nationality, age, skin color, etc. a person is - I do what it takes to protect myself and my family - even if it means killing them! WE ARE A NATION OF LAWS, NOT A NATION OF MEN!

Do you find something wrong with that? Isn't America a nation of immigrants and isn't America's strength its diversity? I'm with Obama and the Democrats: Get rid of the borders between the U.S. and Mexico. We're living in one world whether you xenophobic/racist/tea bagger/Repubs like it or not. And in any event, the southwest U.S. was part of Mexico at one time until the U.S. government committed genocide against the Mexican peoples..Mexicans are just taking back geographic areas of the U.S. that rightly belong to them. :)

Stop the press!!! Mexicans were here first, it was there land?? Only by killing Indians did they have clam to any land now called America!!! Mexican Spaniards were killing Indians for land long before this Indian killing holocaust federal government came along!!! If your White your "true" home land is Europe, Black your home land is Africa, Brown your home land is Spain. Arizona is a state of America and the law "states" if your here Illegally you got to go!!! Case closed!!! GET OUT!!! You xenophobic/racist/Dem-wits need to grow a BRAIN!!! Thank you :) President Obama Guilty Failure To Protect Arizona Citizens http://www.webcommentary.com/php/ShowArticle.php?id=grahamm&date=100430 President Obama Impotent On U.S. - Mexico Border Issue http://www.webcommentary.com/php/ShowArticle.php?id=grahamm&date=100423

What are you talking about?!?! If you're brown your homeland is Spain but if you;re white your homeland is Europe??? You NEED to look at a map before you hurt your brain any further with the severity of your idiotic thoughts. The Mexican race is composed of Native Latin American Indians and Spaniards. Its a mix of the two because Latin American colonizers didn't endorse the racist laws which were employed in the U.S. which prohibited marriages between native people and European whites. The same tone of discriminatory laws would be used again to forbade Spanish in public school, created Jim Crow, allowed discrimination against the LGBT communities. Not coincidentally all these laws faced and still face serious opposition from the non-righteous right when attempts have been made to progress beyond their primitive influence and welcome in equality and respect for people as HUMANS regardless of their nationality. What kind of U.S.A. do you want to live in? The law is not black and white. Just because a message is institutionalized in a law doesn't make it right or moral. Have U.S. laws been broken by people entering the country illegally? Yes. But is that a reason to spew hatred toward a specific ethnicity? Absolutely not for anyone with a soul. Stop the hatred. People come to the U.S. from Latin America because they are desperate for an opportunity to thrive. The view America as their only chance to live. How can we send people back knowing the most probable outcome is human suffering and poverty? You can't save everyone but you can help the person right in front of you. Show compassion. You may say :its not my problem, or my countries problem, or my taxes problem if thats the kind of person you want to be and the kind of person you want your child to be but I personally will continue to do my part to make the world a better and more compassionate place to live for every human being and teach my children to do the same.

Let me first say Rory, you're ignorant. Hispanic right here talking. I was born here in America and I value my citizenship. Each morning I get up and thank god for everything I have and remember our glorious history. Let me break it down for you, first off: We are a country built on the genocide of thousands, prejudice, hatred and simply sticking our nose in things it doesn't belong in. Vietnam. Korea. Racism. Lynchings. Japanese concentration camps in our OWN country. Let's talk about the US govenment and the mexican genocide when we took over the rest of what is now America? You mean like spaniards did when they first came ashore? You mean like the whites did following that grand tradition towards the native americans? I guess we forgot who really was here first. Guess what? We're still doing it too, across the world. Here's the situation: The melting pot is full. It's spilling over and bubbling violently right now. While it's true we're a nation of immigrants, we have a process for these people to come in and they're ignoring it. I will agree that the process to become a citizen is ridiculous in what it demands and expects because I know people who went through the legal process and they told me what it was. They wanted it enough to do it the right way and despite what you may believe, the system we have IS the system and people DO go through it because they want it that bad every day. We also allow refugees in. If these "immigrants from mexico" are refugees and fleeing from a hostile country, then let us call them refugees and not immigrants. The press loves a good sob story. If all immigrants coming in followed the ridiculous process in place, there would be nothing to complain about from ANYONE. We allow our laws to be ignored, yet actively police every American citizen for the most mediocre of things.Which laws do we get to ignore in fair trade? Can I go steal a car and not be punished? Can I kill a man and escape the law? It's a double standard that many are ignoring, because the issue is troublesome. This isn't some simple matter-this is a free pass. What it really comes down to is this: The government needs to make citizenship easier for people to enter or enforce our policies fiercely. I expect to hear no complaints from anyone in Mexico right now if I hop their fence since I don't want to wait at the lines at the border gates. Here's what's about to happen: An armed uprising taking place in Arizona and it would not surprise me to see the national guard being called in as both sides escalate the situation.

Thanks for writing your perspective on this issue. I am sure with this law in place California will be getting allot of new visitors.

Hey there Rory Cripps stop your PR of miss-information on this issue bud As this land was before your white ass came here no Indian called themselves Mexican.!! Other than that, the rest of your rant here is Obama democrat piss water. Your smoking something other than marijuana, glad I do not live around you for real. I'm a 100% service connected VET for you and I to talk face to face you would get a real education as to how this country is really run. Wake up num-nuts your lost in the woods.

The Federal government and all elected and appointed officials need to enforce the Federal Laws... Or all taxpaying citizens could refuse to pay their taxes bringing the government to its knees overnight. Just remember Big Brothert - there aren't enough jails to hold the entiore population of the USA! Concerned Citizen

We're acting stupid? The people in Arizona were blind-sided and didn't see the truck hit them either. Let me explain. SB 1070 was merely a strippped-down version of a law George W. Bush signed to law and that law is:Federal Immigration and Nationality Act Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)How so? Look at Arizona's SB1070;Unlawful Stopping and Solicitation of Work 18. Specifies that it is unlawful, if a motor vehicle is stopped on a street, roadway or highway and blocks or impedes the normal movement of traffic: a) for a motor vehicle occupant to attempt to hire or hire and pick up passengers for work at a different location; b) for a person to enter the motor vehicle in order to be hired by a motor vehicle occupant and to be transported to work at a different location. 19. Stipulates that it is unlawful for a person who is unlawfully present in the U.S. and who is an unauthorized alien to knowingly apply for work, solicit work in a public place or perform work as an employee or independent contractor in Arizona. 20. Classifies these offenses as class 1 misdemeanors. 21. Defines solicit and unauthorized alien. Unlawful Transporting 22. Specifies that it is unlawful for a person to do or attempt to do the following if the person knows or recklessly disregards the fact that the alien has come to, has entered or remains in the U.S. in violation of law: a) transport or move an alien in Arizona in a means of transportation; b) conceal, harbor or shield an alien from detection in any place in Arizona, including any building or means of transportation. 23. Stipulates it is unlawful to encourage or induce an alien to come to or reside in Arizona if the person knows or recklessly disregards the fact that such coming to, entering or residing in this state is or will be in violation of law. 24. Subjects a means of transportation used in the commission of a violation to mandatory vehicle immobilization or impoundment. 25. Classifies these offenses as class 1 misdemeanors and subjects offenders to fines of at least $1,000, except that a violation that involves 10 or more illegal aliens is a class 6 felony with a fine of at least $1,000 for each alien who is involved. Investigations of Employers 26. Allows the county attorney, in investigations of employers who are alleged to have knowingly or intentionally hired unauthorized aliens, to take evidence, administer oaths or affirmations, issue subpoenas requiring attendance and testimony of witnesses and cause depositions to be taken. 27. Exempts proceedings held during the course of a confidential investigation from open meeting laws. 28. Stipulates that an employer is not entrapped in an investigation if the employer was predisposed to knowingly or intentionally employ an unauthorized alien and law enforcement officers or their agents merely provided the employer with an opportunity to do so. 29. States that it is not entrapment for law enforcement officers or their agents merely to use a ruse or to conceal their identities. 30. Directs employers to keep verification records of their employees’ work eligibility through E-Verify. 31. Establishes a class 3 felony for failing to: a) verify employment eligibility through E-Verify or b) keep records of verifications. This is the law if you hire or pick up an illegal. You are arrested for a misdemeanor and are fined up to $1,000 per illegal. Pretty expensive, huh? Not if you're a business, it's the cost of doing business. Yet George W. Bush signed: Federal Immigration and Nationality Act which reads:"Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he: * assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or * encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or * knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime. Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his or her work authorization status is guilty of a misdemeanor. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief.Recruitment and Employment of Illegal AliensIt is unlawful to hire an alien, to recruit an alien, or to refer an alien for a fee, knowing the alien is unauthorized to work in the United States. It is equally unlawful to continue to employ an alien knowing that the alien is unauthorized to work. Employers may give preference in recruitment and hiring to a U.S. citizen over an alien with work authorization only where the U.S. citizen is equally or better qualified. It is unlawful to hire an individual for employment in the United States without complying with employment eligibility verification requirements. Requirements include examination of identity documents and completion of Form I-9 for every employee hired. Employers must retain all I-9s, and, with three days' advance notice, the forms must be made available for inspection. Employment includes any service or labor performed for any type of remuneration within the United States, with the exception of sporadic domestic service by an individual in a private home. Day laborers or other casual workers engaged in any compensated activity (with the above exception) are employees for purposes of immigration law. An employer includes an agent or anyone acting directly or indirectly in the interest of the employer. For purposes of verfication of authorization to work, employer also means an independent contractor, or a contractor other than the person using the alien labor. The use of temporary or short-term contracts cannot be used to circumvent the employment authorization verification requirements. If employment is to be for less than the usual three days allowed for completing the I-9 Form requirement, the form must be completed immediately at the time of hire.An employer has constructive knowledge that an employee is an illegal unauthorized worker if a reasonable person would infer it from the facts. Constructive knowledge constituting a violation of federal law has been found where (1) the I-9 employment eligibility form has not been properly completed, including supporting documentation, (2) the employer has learned from other individuals, media reports, or any source of information available to the employer that the alien is unauthorized to work, or (3) the employer acts with reckless disregard for the legal consequences of permitting a third party to provide or introduce an illegal alien into the employer's work force. Knowledge cannot be inferred solely on the basis of an individual's accent or foreign appearance.Actual specific knowledge is not required. For example, a newspaper article stating that ballrooms depend on an illegal alien work force of dance hostesses was held by the courts to be a reasonable ground for suspicion that unlawful conduct had occurred.IT IS ILLEGAL FOR NONPROFIT OR RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS to knowingly assist an employer to violate employment sanctions, REGARDLESS OF CLAIMS THAT THEIR CONVICTIONS REQUIRE THEM TO ASSIST ALIENS. Harboring or aiding illegal aliens is not protected by the First Amendment. It is a felony to establish a commercial enterprise for the purpose of evading any provision of federal immigration law. Violators may be fined or imprisoned for up to five years. But this time, not only is your property seized like SB1070, but you are imprisoned AS A CONVICTED FELON AND THE GOVERNMENT HAS THE RIGHT TO SEIZE YOUR BUSINESS, EQUIPMENT AND/OR VEHICLE !!!!! So which of the rules is more stringent? The illegal who commits a misdemeanor and hops the border or the company who commits a felony and hires the illegal? And why are Californians pissed? Because, Brewer signed a stripped down version of Federal Immigration and Nationality Act Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii) And everyone including Arizonan will have to flip for the bill and pay to deport these illegals, while corporations are given a free ride. Imagine the Walton's in Jail?
at 21:23 on May 19th, 2010
There is a simple solution to this problem that would save Arizona 90 billion per year; buy the illegals a one way bus ticket to New York, San Francisco, or DC with the requirement that they never return!
at 02:59 on May 20th, 2010
