[T]his year, in a Democratic presidential nomination race that has defied convention at every turn, celebrities are playing a much bigger role than usual. Rather than just lend their endorsements, stars from the worlds of music, TV, and movies are taking active roles in getting the word out, particularly in Senator Barack Obama's campaign.

Saying she felt compelled to support "the man I believe has a new vision for America," Oprah Winfrey spoke passionately about Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama at two rallies in Iowa Saturday.

Oprah isn't the only one.
