OBAMA'S GRANNY SAYS SHE CAN'T COPE WITH HER NEW CELEBRITY STATUS!
Her home compound which had not previously been connected to the national grid has been provided with electricity supply and fenced off by the Kenyan govt.
The 87 year old Granny is now being chaperoned by a policewoman and her daily itinerary is no longer in her hands, but closely steered by aides and security forces.
A visitors book that is now open in the gate of her newly fenced compound shows that she is receiving an average of 500 visitors per day and these are not her neighbours but dignitaries from Kenyan Capital Nairobi.
Various foreign embassies personel are among the regular visitors featuring in her visitors book.
"I can no longer make food now in my own kitchen leave alone tending my backyard yard garden that provides me with my indigenious vegetables for traditional meals" she tells one of the local journalists with nostalagia before she is whisked away by her chaperone to play host to yet another group of diginitaries who have arrived at her home compound.
She says she feels hemmed in as she is not allowed to venture out of her compound and pay visit to her friends and neighbours without express permission of her minders.
The old granny who converses to most of her visitors thro an interpreter confesses that she is feeling lonely among these masses of people as she does not relate to them easily because of the language barrier.
As she was being whisked away, she pleaded with her chaperone to allow her more time to converse with the local journalist who talks her language.
Her neighbours can no longer access her compound easily due to security vetting now in force and she says that she misses them.
Her new found celebrity status has in actual fact alienated her from her close community of friends and neighbours and she talks about them with that faraway look in her cloudy eyes that betrays her loneliness.
Her bad knee does not help as she walks around to shake hands of her numerous visitors everyday.
She also says she misses sharing the tit bits of her local community news as all the news she hears and shares with her visitors now is about America.
As one shares the precious short minute with this granny, one cannot help discern the loneliness that this new celebrity suffers among the new crowds that now throng her home and the yearning in her heart for the old simple life.

Thanks Paschen. One cannot help empathising with this golden Granny who in her new celebrity status is now not able to celebrate with her lifelong friends about her families achievement.
