October 28th is National Chocolate Day

Today is National Chocolate Day and celebration is happening all across the United States. People are writing in blogs telling us how they are celebrating this event, and Morton's is even giving away free chocolate!

To help chocoholics celebrate, Morton's will be giving away samples of their Chocolate Velvet Petit Fours and new Chocolate Mousse to passersby on October 28 from 12:30 1:30 p.m.

"Tiny Prints" is even switching up their menu to accomodate the holiday.

Today is National Chocolate Day, and here at Tiny Prints we can’t think of a better reason to celebrate! We’ve added Oreos to our oatmeal and swapped our lattes for mochas in honor of National Chocolate Day, and a few of us have been on sites like SheKnows.com looking for delectable dessert recipes all morning!

It is still unclear why October 28th is National Chocolate Day. I don't know if celebrating this holiday 3 days before Halloween is such a good idea. But from blogs and people's reaction, no one is complaining about having too much chocolate.

Profiterole is a simple and delicious dessert. Basic choux pastry filled with vanilla ice cream and topping with ganache (chocolate and fresh cream).

This chocolate cupcake caterpillar was the centrepiece at the pumpkin party that I attended last Saturday. It was created by my nephew and his girls. Some of the other treats included the chocolate witch hats in the lower right corner.

This chocolate pudding is hiding some avocado puree, it was absolutely delicious for dipping strawberries.

I also made brownies yesterday without even realising it was Chocolate Day over there, I must be psychic!

This is an interesting topic...who doesn't love chocolate anyways? I'm sure at some point you loved chocolate. n_n

My photos where taken at home in a mini studio setup.
These are plain chocolates in bar, melted, molded (with a molder or free-hand).

I made this cake for my chocolate obsessed aunt. It's Devils Food Cake with Double Chocolate Buttercream. Even the message is chocolate!

This chocolate and vanilla marble cake was baked for my little brother and sister upon request. I topped it with chocolate frosting and made stars out of 100's & 1000's sprinkles....

This is one tasty cake! The cake is yellow and it has a caramel cream filling, it is frosted in yummy chocolate icing and is wrapped in chocolate, with a star chocolate transfer. Chocolate curls adorn the top.

This cake was made for a Pie Auction to benifit a school. Chocolate cake with cherry filling, chocolate fondant and fondant "cherries" on top. Topped off with a little black bird made of fondant.
