Octomom Nadya Suleman Could Be Evicted From Her House
'Octomom' To Lose Roof Over Her Head?
Nadya Suleman, better known as 'Octomom,' may get evicted from the house she is currently residing in along with her 14 children, eight of each were born last January. It is reported that Suleman can't financially sustain paying for her home and has fallen behind on her mortgage payments.
Suleman made headlines last year when she gave birth to live octuplets, a rather rare medical occurrence. However, the public turned negative toward 'Octomom' when it was discovered that Suleman did not have a husband, was unemployed and already had six other children to support, surviving on public assistance programs. Suleman was even accused of implanting herself with so many embryos via in vitro fertilization in order to become famous.
Suleman's father bought a house for Nadya Suleman's children in La Habra, California in March of 2009. She was due to pay $4,139 a month for one year. The owner of the house Amer Haddadin agreed not to charge any interest in exchange for a balloon payment of $450,000 at the end of the year, which was due on March 10, 2010. However, the money was not paid to Haddadin, who says what the family is doing to him is not right. He also claims several recent payments were late. Suleman has not made the very last monthly payment yet.
That means 'Octomom' is facing foreclosure. It was reported the house was initially worth $564,900. Interestingly, the house of Suleman's mother where Nadya Suleman's family used to reside previously was also being foreclosed last year because Suleman's mother was behind in mortgage payments as well.
The latest update from E! Online says the owner of Suleman's house Amer Haddadin is giving her until next Tuesday to settle the matter.
Life After Giving Birth
After the media frenzy that ensued in the months following the birth of her octuplets, it seemed Suleman was set for life. In fact, many critics expressed concern that Suleman was using her children to make money.
In the months after giving birth, Octomom was approached by four production companies to discuss the filming of her reality show. In April of last year, People Magazine reported Suleman was seeking to trademark her 'Octomom' brand. In August, FOX aired their special on Suleman titled Octomom: The Incredible Unseen Footage. In January of 2010, Suleman posed in bikini for the cover of Star Magazine, talking about how she lost 150 pounds after giving birth. Just recently, 'Octomom' made an appearance on Barbara Walter's The View, talking about her family.
