The Office April 14: Will Ferrell Debuts, Steve Carrell Leaving
The Office Episode Thursday April 14, Called Training Day
Will Ferrell debuted on The Office Thursday April 14, and he already showed just how funny his stint on the show can be.
Steve Carrell is of course, leaving, and starting to say goodbye, and while fans are sad (I know I am!), it is also exciting to see Will Ferrell, or DeAngelo Vickers, on the small screen again.
Will Ferrell is in one minute, charming and balanced and everyone's best friend, and in the next is self-involved and brutally honest. I loved when he told Jim and Pam to stop talking about their baby after they really thought that he was genuinely interested.
We also got to see a bit of him and Michael Scott vying for attention, when Michael brings in peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and we find out Vickers has a very mild peanut allergy. He of course makes a big deal out of it, and Michael tries to throw the sandwiches all over the office, much to Vickers' chagrin.
I loved the story line with Andy making an effort to be really funny after Vickers called him 'the funny man'. Andy falling over a table and throwing Cheetos in the air was just hilarious.
Fans of the show and the producers seem very happy to have Will Ferrll on board:
“Of course, I knew I was about to work with someone who was very funny, but I wasn’t prepared for just how incredibly funny he was all the time — how he could just look at you and do something with his face that was just a little bit off, and you can’t really keep it together,” exec producer and co-star Paul Lieberstein tells EW. “It just blew my mind.”
What did you think of the first episode with Will Ferrell?
