Old Persons Home, by Sun Yuan and Peng Yu (sculpture)

Old Persons Home, 13 life-size sculptures by Sun Yuan and Peng Yu, one of the exhibits in the Saatchi Gallery's The Revolution Continues. Sun and Peng are known as controversial artists in China. They have worked with extreme materials such as human fat tissue, live animals, and the bodies of babies, to tackle issues of c perception, death, and decay. In Old Person's Home - which is hilarious but disconcerting - they have created models of aged old men who are like unidentifiable world leaders (some of them wear military dress). The models move aimlessly in electric wheelchairs. Occasionally, they are removed by the staff for repair.
