Get Back (Mono Single Mix)

MySpace, Bebo, and even Facebook are for the youngsters, right? So what do you do if you have a few strands of silver popping up on that head of dark hair, and just might enjoy The Beatles, Rush, and Blondie more than T-Pain, Fergie, and Kanye?

Apparently you, "Get back, get back, get back to where you once belonged" to that most romantic and golden of ages in popular music: 1968-90.

GetBack Media
is letting the overlooked, older, wiser, music crowd participate in a little nostalgic, music-based networked socializin' with their new site that will let users:

"rediscover popular entertainment, fashion, and pop-culture momentsfrom their youth, and build community through easy to discoverpre-populated content sets related to the music, film, TV and games ofthe era. Getback is also creating a marketplace for collectables, reissues, and new content from nostalgia artists."

GetBack Media, a social network from the founders of DVD company Shout! Factory that's geared for people over age 35, launches today (April 23) stocked with music and TV content.

The site offers community tools for people ages 35-55. The focus is on pop culture from 1968-90, including a timeline loaded with news and trivia for each year.

GetBack president Chris Dominguez, a former exec at MTV Networks and iFilm, said there's an opportunity to create a destination for people over 35 who might not be enamored of the younger-skewing MySpace and Facebook.

"We found that demographic was coming online with full broadband and using social networking," Dominguez said. "But there wasn't anything created typically for them."

A clear difference between GetBack and the social networking giants is that the site comes with content. Instead of a user having to go out and find a U2 video to put on their page, for example, the site already has that content available.
