The Betty White Super Bowl commercial has thrust the golden girl back into the spotlight, and also shows that she can take a hit like Abe Vigoda. The Super Bowl ad has created a movement to get Betty White to host Saturday Night live.
A Facebook page to get Betty White to host SNL has gained over 154,000 fans already. The "Get Betty White to host SNL" push has extended beyond Facebook and into the real world, with actual news sites writing about it., such as the LA Times and NBC. Where did this meme start? I don't know, but I do know where it will end:

She had her profile raised by that lousy Sandra Bullock Rom-Com this past summer. Then, she won a Lifetime Achievement Award from SAG.
This was just icing on the cake. It's about time a Golden Girl hosted SNL.

This article is actually a bit inaccurate; the fan page on Facebook was active prior to the Snickers commercial -- the commercial is not what started the "Betty White on SNL" movement; the fan page did. The commercial was just another factor in something that's been a long time coming. Betty is awesome.
