An opinion on commenting.

Gore Vidal thoughts on the actual situation and his dispute with Bush's policy are well know news. Lesser knows news, but nevertheless news, because being comments on his thoughts are found on the post  "US needs 100 years to recover from Bush" published on NowPublic, see here.

I found the comments more interesting than Vidal Gore's interview for El Mundo. The respectable commentators, from the editorial staff of NowPublic, add their own very special flavors to the indeed  brillant thoughts of Gore Vidal.

I quote from the relevant comments and add a few questions.

From Matte:

But George W has not been the first criminal. The 100 years will not start till the US learns to mind its own business, stop trying to be the vigilante global policeman and acknowledges the fact that cultures and ways of life differ.

Matte why is Bush a criminal and Putin not?

From Maireid Sullivan:

Abso "bludy" lutely right on, Matte! :)

And we're telling them now -in no uncertain terms.

Gone are the days of diplomats managing foreign policy communications - the people are going direct - and in droves..

...And the flock will be driven by you and...matte..

From Matte:

you know the saying - tease a dog but don't be surprised when it turns and bites you. The US has been doing it since WWII. (As has Israel - cannot wait for Iran to give them a smack around the ears, whining buggers they are!)

Matte what is an Iranian 'smack around the ears', what was your intention: to kiss noisily,or to strike sharply and with a loud noise.?

Matte what is the word 'bugger', what was your intention: a sodomite in vulgar slang, a contemtible or disreputable person in slang, or a fellow in slang?

From Maired Sullivan:

So true! I think "the whole world" must need a break from this ugly whining!

We've been "polite" for too long!

Maired Sullivan have you the credentials to think for "the whole world", or is it only 'your world'?

I am proud to contribute to NowPublic. But I would be prouder if the respectable commentators would made comments respecting the involved persons countries and events.
