Oprah Book Club 2009: How to Get Tickets to Oprah Show
The Oprah Book Club 2009 is starting on Friday September 18th, when Oprah will be broadcasting live from Central Park in New York City.
Special guests will be Mariah Carey, Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa, and the special book chosen for the Book Club, but that is being kept under wraps until the last minute.
How can you get tickets to attend Oprah's Book Club episode?
The live-taping will be open to a crowd of ticketed audience members. Anyone interested in attending must go to Oprah.com/audience and check for a link under Last Minute Reservations for the Free New York City Taping. There is an extensive form you will need to fill out about yourself and your love for Oprah. If you are selected to receive tickets, you will be contacted by The Oprah Winfrey Show with details.
Reservations are first come, first served. Don't forget your ID and your ticket. There will be a security check, so arrive early and the show begins at 10am, whether you are inside or not.
Forecast is calling for rain that day.
The books Oprah chooses for her Book Club often become overnight best sellers (complete list of Oprah Book Club selections).
The Book Club started with The Book of Ruth by Jane Hamilton, and have included publishing giants such as The Reader by Bernhard Schlink, East of Eden by John Steinbeck and Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy.
Let's just hope her 'midas touch' doesn't ruin the book publisher however:
But Oprah's Midas-like Touch can easily overwhelm a fledgling company-just ask execs at Kashwere LLC, where operations were overwhelmed after Oprah declared her love for their robes.
